I had the pleasure of hanging out with Bob Seger at a bar in Birmingham, Michigan some 20 years ago. Down to earth, great guy loved telling me all of his stories. It was really cool because it was during the holidays, the bar was empty and the bartender let us hang out well past closing time. I will never forget how approachable and cool he is. As we all have, I have seen numerous celebrities in Vegas but I interacted with Telly Savalas at a poker game at the Dunes and Louie Anderson at a blackjack table at the Vegas Club. I had the opportunity to meet Tim Allen after he did a comedy show in Tucson before he got big. He is also from Birmingham Michigan and we had a pleasant chat and a tequila shot. I have found celebrities to be quite normal and somewhat interesting.

Had a phone call with Michael Jordan once. If you remember the guy who did the Grizzly bear chronicles, I flew to California and delivered some radios to him. He got eaten by bears a few months later in Alaska. RIP bro!

Some French writer you've never heard of.

I also shook the hand of the then-Quebec-PM, who was visibly drunk, at the funeral of a legendary French Canadian painter you've never heard of.

Oh, and I think I was about 12 when I spent a whole evening sitting next to Enrico Ciccone, a mediocre NHL player you've never heard of (10 goals in 374 career games) who was playing for the Minnesota North Stars at the time. I knew he was going to be there and I'd brought his current Upper Deck card for him to sign. When I pulled out the card, he was all (French for) "Are you ****ing kidding me?!?".

That's about it. Oh, and I touched RogueScholar.

                      A mild-mannered lumberjack.

Hmmmm. Interesting. I just read a Teela post where she used the word, "lumberjack". I hadn't seen that word in a few years and I just saw it twice in 17 seconds.

Teela is from the Northeast like me. Lumberjacks are our upper middle class.

                          That's thrice now.

I used to do a fair amount of stand-up comedy around Boston. Back in the day, I made it down to the final two in this big comedy competition. I lost it to the other dude. It was Dane Cook.

Who knows, things go a little different that night and it could be ME making movies with Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson and him sitting around all day in his sweats posting on SBR and accomplishing nothing.

I really need to stop frickin' underachieving.

He was pretty nice though. And funny as a bastard.
