    Who Do you Think Will Receive The Heisman?
    Colt McCoy is the betting favorite. I thought Gerhart would be favored but I think he also might vault to the top when Nebraska wins.

    Does not seem to be any talk of the guys from the small conferences for Heisman this year.

    McCoy. I picked him up at +185 a few weeks ago.

      It will be McCoy. The win over Nebraska will cinch it for him.

        I have to vote and root for Toby Gerhart being from the Bay Area!

            McCoy, but I don't think Texas has been on national tv enough this year. I'm pulling for Tebow

                McCoy is the obvious winner. Out of the "Three Amigos" he was the odd man out. Bradford could not finish the year, and Tebow had a down year. This year, he wins it. Gerhart came on too late. The rest have no chance.

                  If the Huskers force Colt into a a horrific game, and Tebow dominates or wills the Gators from a come from behind win over Bama in dramtic fashion, Tebow wins by a narrow margin. But Tebow might have it locked up already. Who knows? He certainly garners all the media attention.

                    Tebow splits too many votes down South. Ingram will steal votes away from him if he has a decent game against Florida. People know that McCoy is a much better QB than Tebow. Tebow is the much better leader. McCoy has this locked up, unless Texas not only loses to Nebraska, but fails to score many points. A 35-34 loss would not hurt McCoy. A 10-7 loss would.

                        Colt McCoy or Toby Gerhart, really a toss up. I think Case Keenum should get more consideration tho.

                          I can't even find a sportsbook that has betting odds on the Heisman Trophy at the present time.

                                        If Ingram was white he would not even be considered for the Heisman. In the Auburn game he was not used much because his back-up was keeping Alabama in the game. In the Tenn game, Ingram fumbled the ball away that gave Tenn a game winning FG attempt. If that wins you the Heisman they should do away with the award.

                                                Ingram's fumble was the first since he stepped on campus. The on-side kick gave UT the field goal chance not the fumble.

                                                    ** Coy is only -250 at 5 dimes, and this is the type of line with high juice so fair price less than -200 so not a lock to them at all.

                                                    If they lose to Nebraska I would not give him much of a chance.

                                                          i would vote Gerhart, but really it is already won by mccoy.

                                                              WTF??? UF is 12-0 and 1 game away from going back to back to another national championship yet Tebow is having a "down" year? What facts do you have to back that stupid ass statement on? Facts, stats? I doubt it...

                                                              Tim Tebow 2009 12-0

                                                              Troy Smith 2006 12-0

                                                              It's pretty clear that he has Heisman Stat's plus playing in a league with much better defense.

                                                              Now let's compare him to Colt McCoy since so many of the less informed thinks he has better stats as well...

                                                              McCoy= 30 total TDs, 9 INTs, 153 QB rating
                                                              Tebow= 31 total TDs, 4 INTs, 161 QB rating

                                                              Tebow has a total of 437 pass/rush attempts while McCoy has a total of 543 pass/rush attempts.

                                                              McCoy has thrown the ball 188 times more than Tebow, hence the reason his passing stats are higher.

                                                              McCoy has almost 1200 more passing yards. But McCoy has also thrown 80% more passes than Tebow.

                                                              Tebow has rushed for 400 more yards, accounted for the same number of touchdows (31), thrown less interceptions (4 vs. 10), logged a better QB rating, picked up more yards per passing attempt, etc.

                                                              McCoy's only statistical advantages over Tebow are higher completion percentage and more passing attempts, which have translated into more yards.

                                                              McCoy has logged more passing yards by throwing a lot against bad defenses (Attempts-Yards: Louisiana-Monroe 29-317, Wyoming 47-337, UTEP 35-286, Colorado 39-265, Missouri 31-269, UCF 42-470, Kansas 41-396, Texas A&M 40-304).

                                                              47 passes against Wyoming? 42 against UCF?

                                                              Tebow on the other hand has thrown far fewer passes against the bad teams on the UF schedule (Charleston Southern 15-188, Troy 24-237, Kentucky 10-103, Vandy 20-208, FIU 25-215).

                                                              But you have to look at the overall production and Tebow has produced more TDs with less turnovers despite having about 100 less rushes/pashing attempts.Tebow is much more efficient. McCoy isn't even the most deserving player on his team. Shipley has performed more consistent and better then McCoy. Ask UT fans folks.

                                                              If you want to give the Heisman to the player with the most passing yards then Case Keenum would win going away. Heck, whoever is the next Texas Tech QB would win it every other year for that matter. Keenum's stats are much better than McCoys. Fortunately the award is not just about passing yards.

                                                              Does Tebow deserve the Heisman? I don't know, but if you compare him to McCoy, it's pretty even. Gerhart and Ingram deserves consideration as well IMO.
