This is so disgustingly true.

The only exception to it I've found is that gamblers even if we don't care about money become complete jews when it comes to spending it outside of gambling.

I have no qualms with losing $140 at the track but paying an extra $3 for Ultra Tide instead of generic laundry detergint will NOT HAPPEN.

but i will add that gamblers usually don't bet for the money but for the addiction.. they love the action.. its like cocaine.. if gamblers really loved money, they'd go work 3 jobs and make 125,000/yr instead of gamble..

it's all about the action.. the high..

the high comes from the anticipation of a lot of money

i dont bet because of the high im going to feel, i bet because i want a lot of money, and then i get high when the action starts taking place and fate wheels into motion

Having a so called "life" and "status in the community" is highly overrated anyway. That freaken Tide is a rip-off. I have a girlfriend. I pay attention to her when there's no games on.

I used to have a similar opinion but after many years and many ups and downs I notice that I almost get the same thrill from losing as I do winning when it comes to the physical and psycological pleasure you get from gambling.

Because YOU KNOW that no matter if you win or lose $1k on a game you get a rush and if you are winning a high until the game is over and thinking ahead to how you get bet again, and again, Where as you lose and the anxiety of a loss hits you your body will at the very least get that "urge" out of the system if only for a little bit. But the reality is, you are already thinking about the next bet.

For a gambler, its never about the outcome its always about getting to the next outcome.

I was a generic laundry guy for ages because as long as my clothes didn't smell like sh1t I didn't care, but working and going to school as a chef and having tons of cloths covered in meat, blood, and other sauces I needed to upgrade to Tide.

Bottom line I'd rather lose a $20 bet than go the supermarket and pay $3 more for Tide.

Well i thought it was funny when i wrote it. I guess u didn't. Sorry I'll stop trying to be funny. I gamble everyday on sports or poker but I have a job and a girl. Not sure if that makes me a degenerate or not.

this is so very true. i know so many guys that go to casino and bet 500$ at BJ for 3 straight days, walk out losing 19,000$ and then go to restaurant and order cheapest meal on menu and a glass of water with no dessert to save 5$ total.. then head home to bet the NHL, NBA and NCAAB board for 2k a game.. and then refuse to leave more than a 3$ tip to the pizza delivery guy.

gamblers don't mind spending any money, as long as it's for their addiction. come to think of it, it's the same for all addiction.. crack addicts and alcoholics hate spending money on anything, and will not eat if they have to, but will lay out 150$ for their weekly beers or a couple or pieces of cocaine for their addiction fix...

i was thinking about all the cool things i cold buy with my gambling losses like scotch, cigars, a car.....

but then i realize that all those things dont have the potential to make even more money...they are just dead money once you use them.

where as in gambling you 'pay' for the bet, and then you have the potential to make even more money

i actually went out and bought those healthy choice pumpkin squash ravioli things.

i think we do it as a sort of 'rebate' for our gambling losses. the losses don't seem so bad when we know we're saving $ in another area. its a justification

kind of strange that many alcoholics/addicted gamblers/druggies like to stereotype all addicts as having the same persona. yes there are many similarities but i know plenty of people that i would consider addicts who gamble regularly, lose $500 (or $5000) and still spend $100 on a dinner.

i do agree that most of the true degenerate addicts actually have a subconscious desire to lose like the movie "two for the money". but that probably constitutes less than 5% of all gamblers?

wow onner, thanks, but those are not it.. those were recent. he made one back in summer of 08.. it was very close to the time he made a vid talking to a porn girl on his bed looking at his screen and saying, oh baby, oh baby.. i think he was having sex with her on his bed while talking to her.. remember that one....

i remember it was just before this by a day or two..

these were his 2nd and 3rd.. you are missing the 1st one, which was the best one by far.. he was walking up the stairs with his camera going nuts and yelling..

ryan, you might be the only one that remembers it.. he was walking around the house holding his camera, walking up the stairs slowly and yelling.. we gamble cause we're sick.. we gamble cause we have nothing else to do.. we are all sick.. we are cheap as hell.. we refuse to pay for pants cause we prefer to gamble.. and he kept on and on.. it was so great cause of his rage and body language. he sold us all that gambling was ruining us.. i will never forget that video.. i wish onner can find it.

it really was the best vid he'd ever done according to me..and he's done close to 1400.. it really hit back home for a lot of us gamblers..

it was a hot summer day in i believe July or August of 2008.. it was in peak summer baseball season.. just around the time he made a vid looking at a porn site or some girl talking to him and he was telling her to talk dirty to him. very close to that time.. within a few days probably..
