Getting top level Offensive talent obviously hasn't been the problem in South Bend. They need someone that can recruit some top level Defensive talent. They have that Stud freshman linebacker....need to get more players in the program like him.

getting top level talent there has not been a problem, but it will be if holtz comes back to ND to coach. he could not recruit that well at south carolina which is why he didn't win enough. yes, s carolina is not nd, but young studs in HS dont wana play for old decrepit coaches like bowden, paterno, holtz. only reason paterno keeps winning is 'cause he's in the shitty big-10 and everyone else except ohio st and iowa, suck (iowa and ohio st both beat penn st in happy valley )

I don't deny that Kelly isn't the right fit. It definitely makes sense but I would say him and Harabaugh should be 1 and 1A on their lists and then go after that second tier if neither wants the job that would include fitzgerald and Peterson at Boise.
