Why did New England give up on Tom Brady?
    Isn't/Wasn't New England a dynasty?

New England was down by 21 with 5 and a half minutes to go, and NE put in their back up QB to rush rush rush and give up.

Would a 49ers team with Joe Montana give up, down by 3 TDs with over 5 minutes to go? No.

Would a Colts team with Manning give up, down by 3 TDs with over 5 minutes to go? No.

Would a Dolphins team with Dan Marino give up, down by 3 TDs with over 5 minutes to go? No.

Would a Broncos team with John Elway give up, down by 3 TDs with over 5 minutes to go? No.

Would a Packers team with Brett Favre give up, down by 3 TDs with over 5 minutes to go? No.

But..... Would a Patriots team with Tom Brady give up, down by 3 TDs with over 5 minutes to go? YES!

The Patriots made an extraordinary admission of defeat when they took Brady out of the game.

I was shocked to see this happen. I think he was being hit all game long by the defense. They thought they did not have a chance and that was shocking to me. They benched him and I was told by a friend that could happen if they get too far behind.

There were rumors that Brady was hurting before the game (ribs?).
I sure thought Brady looked "off" during the game... so rumors might have been true.

silly kids tricks are for kids they took brady out because if the game went over 57 the books would have lost $$$$ c'mon open your eyes. intentionally missed field goal, fair catching punts, and no urgency on patriots part to look respectful

Same reason why they went for 4th and 2 against the Colts. Bellichick is like a chess master. He knew he was beaten. He knew the Saints had an answer for everything. There was no need for him to play all the way to check mate, like amateurs do. Between chess masters that is a sign of disrespect and ignorance. So he knocked over his king. Game over. Next game.

Not saying I agree, on the football field, but that's the reason.

I would just say though that NE can make it out of the AFC still as the defense will soon figure things out. They are young and still have alot of progress to go through. They are the 2nd best team in the AFC still and Indy will have their hand full in the championship game.

if you watch it from the perspective that it is like wrestling and it is fixed you could see exactly why it happened the way that it did. the pats did not defend any real pass that the saints through and brady did not play the way he could have. they had the saints barely beat all those bad teams for 3 weeks leading up to this to make you think they are not that good and N.E. could win then they had more bettors on N.E. and the over. at the end of the game they had brady standing next to his coach and i know they were thinking they could have easily won this game but were told not to. you all will think i am crazy but i am not. this s all just fancy wrestling. if you watch it from this stand point you will understand. they were not letting this game go over the number. the number started at 55 and everyone was betting over. it moved to 57 and still they were bettig over. they were not letting it go over.

BINGO! BB knew his defense could not stop NO if they did get the ball back, as he did in the Indy game. Also, NE offensive line looked awful, BB knew they would not be able to give Brady the time to get the ball down field. So why risk injury? Move on to the next one.
