    horse wager dispute
I put a wager on a horse at 3:08 and 26 seconds, and the official post time was 3:08. I know I got it in before the race went off because I was watching it. doesn't 3:08 mean all 60 seconds between 3:08 and 3:09. They voided the bet and it would have paid 2800 dollars. Do I have a valid dispute here. The race went off right before 3:09. ??

seems to me that you have no dispute,if the off time of the race was 3:08 and your ticket is stamped 3:08:26,you are 26 seconds past post, sorry

That's the beauty of betting at a legal American site---they keep the betting open until the race goes off, and update times and betting windows based on late scratches (not to mention you can take back bets as well).

What site did this occur at colt? If it was at 5Dimes you don't have a prayer of seeing your money back, as they actually outright state that they can choose whether to use the DRF time or the actual post time in grading your wager. Needless to say this is based on if your wager wins or not.

If you can let us know the site we can better assess your situation. Cheers....

It was at islandcasino.com. Also the tvg.com time was 3:07. Equibase was 3:08.

you must bet earlier offshore even though the race did not go off, it is a rule and you have no case.

Maybe your right. I just figured when you put a wager in before they are out of the gate it would be legit.

Colt I'm afraid you're case is unwinnable in this instance. Their rules state you must get your bet in before the listed post time, which did not occur in this case. Also, a listed time of 3:08 means 3:08:00, not 3:08:59. Sorry that this ticket would have cashed, but I have no doubts your bet would have been refunded either way. GL....

yeah, it is just tough luck. Even if you lost, you still would have got the $$ back.

I wagered with E-horse for over 5 years and they never did this to me and I often got my last bet in seconds before the race was off. Likewise with Pinnacle, Bookmaker, Bodog, and BetOnline.

A book needs to take their race department seriously and be good at closing their betting on time. Relying on equibase off times is a shame.
