of course it sounds dated, it's Jerry Cantrell's and AIC's signature sound. It's what we the fans are accustomed to.

AC/DC still keeps churning out records and singles that have the same style and sound and people still love them. It's just good ole field party lets get rowdy music, with heavy hooks.

True, true, but AIC does have some timeless shit IMO. Jar of Flies is deserted island material for me, from start to finish.
