In many cases the forum will sway you away from your gut instinct, and when you were initially right and change your wager, you will be kicking yourself and be devastated.
Every professional and college sport in America is lined by the professionals, and very rarely does any type of information get past these guys, meaning in all honesty you have about a 50/50 chance of being on the right side.
With this said pick your own games and lock them in, and then browse the forums and offer your input. Nothing worse then losing when tailing fellow posters. You won't feel half as bad when you lose a game based on your own your analysis.
I've certainly made this mistake, most notably following pags early in College Football. He was hyped up as being the best of the best, and the three weeks I tailed him, myself and seemingly the whole forum got buried with him going about 5-14. Not sure how he'd done since, but I learned my lesson.
I've enjoyed my week off, and will be back for the start of the Bowl Season and see where my OWN picks/analysis take me.
Goodluck this week guys.
