I like this Vegas Dave's angles but his ATS % isn't very good. Wow, 4-0 this week???

SBR is competing with other sports sites for web traffic, etc. Thus SBR does not allow moderators to provide content to other sites.
You are comparing apples and oranges. Woody Paige and JA Adande are not violating their contracts.
So actual newspaper journalists have nothing to do with the New York Times or Washington Post? That was your metaphor. Not mine.

And the reason those journalists are allowed to do it is because they are giving their primary employer free publicity on a medium that would otherwise not offer the opportunity for said employer to receive representation and publicity. It will hopefully draw some interest, credibility, and increased circulation to their product.

Woody Paige is not writing columns on ESPN.com
Also anything those guys do are negotiated within their contracts. They will seek approval before they do anything like that.
Dave wasn't approved and decided to give up a $40k+ job to write on a site that gets 20 hits a day instead.

I figured everyone working at SBR was like an old guy.
That's funny. VD is a kid. Fired here? not the end of the world. He'll get a job in a minute in L.A. or anywhere, I mean what does SBR pay alot? I doubt it.
SBR pays peanuts. If you know for how much these people worked you would thank your McDonald's employer a lot. They work 365 days a year for 40k. This is minimum hourly wage. Look at Crazy Lou. He has been working this holiday week non-stop. Sweat shops have better hours and benefits. The lady who answers our phones at work makes more than 40k a year with full benefits.

I assume he had a gambling problem. Gambling effects families. Just trust me on that one.

Sounds like he does have a clue...
I was told that I was hired to make videos, be present on the board, and come up with ideas. I did all of that, and right from the get go I felt out of place. Every idea I went into the office with (including many that you guys had) was shot down and I seemed to get frowned upon for daring to bring them up, which made no sense to me. If I'd been hired to be a yes-man, I wouldn't have taken the job; I thought I was hired to help make the site better for all of us. But every suggestion I made was shot down. Just about every time there was a public outcry about something SBR was obviously wrong on, I was almost always fighting the side you guys were on... of course on the board, I had to go along with the "company stance"... but behind the scenes, I was wearing out my welcome fighting for us as a poster instead of a company man.
They didn't seem to care about my videos... they didn't want my opinion on anything... I was wondering why I'd even been hired in the first place. But then I was still employed come August, and then September rolled around, and I knew my job was safe; after all, football is BY FAR my strength and when I'm the biggest draw. Between my philosophy picks, college vids, etc, you would think SBR would want me during this time of the year. Just look ar how popular "Beat Vegas Dave" was. But alas, September 10th, I went into work just like any other day, put in my 9 hours, and was met outside as I was walking to my car and told that I wasn't coming back to the office anymore. There was never a single warning, and when I had asked Bill on more than one occasion if he wanted more out of me or something different, I was always told "you are doing great, don't change anything". Sure, I gathered from the iciness that my time might be winding down, but I'd have expected maybe ONE SIT DOWN, something like "Dave, you aren't pulling your weight around here, we'd like you to do more" or something. But no, not a word.

Basically to show that he was offed for no reason, moved across country and was treated like a jerkoff. Not real good way to do business.

jjgold is a paid poster. nicky santoro is a paid poster. Fishhead is a paid poster.
Basically the business plan here is simple. Pay for quantity not quality. The bigger the waistline and the bigger the rap sheet the better.

I don't understand either. Why would you move across country to work for someone for 40k a year with 6 day 10 hour weeks? Do the math. It pays less than minimum wage.

60 hrs a week x 52 weeks a year = 3,000 hrs a year = $13 an hour.
This is a dead end job. You can make 2 times or more that easily without any specific skills.
