The economy seems to still be killing all of the casinos around the country and has them still trying to earn more with providing less.

New Years Eve at Mohegan Sun - headline $50/ticket show is the J. Geils Band. Don't get me wrong - I like 80's music more than a lot of people but that's the best they can do for their players? Sure, let's all stop what we're doing and drive down to Connecticut on a cold December night for that. Place will still be packed wall to wall anyway I am sure.

Wait - I don't even have to wait until New Year's to see a big act. December 12 in Atlantic City at Harrah's you can pay $300 or get free tickets if you bet that much per hand at blackjack to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts!

Just seems like the standards are dropping everywhere while expecting everyone to still show up and lose the same amounts of money gambling as before.

you're right. Not just the bands, but with everything. Casinos are acting more and more like they're owed extraordinary profits and constant growth. Quality and value has gone way down.

Yeah, reno - I think other comps and such are going right along with it. They can fill rooms these days with good deals since they would be empty otherwise, but quality of the overall experience for the expected loss is not what it use to be.

What SBR member could help fill the void in the casinos as a lounge act?
