OT - the LOST season finale

I don't know if anyone else here watches it but I have to ask:

Do you think the parts of last night's episode where Jack had the horrendous beard was a flash-back or flash-forward?

Like it seemed like it must be before the island because he talked like his dad was alive. He was attending his dad's funeral in Australia right before he jumped on the flight that led to all the shenanigans.

But it also seemed like it must be after the island because he meets with Kate and every indication was that he met Kate for the first time on the Island. He also said something about how he keeps taking airplane flights hoping to crash AGAIN.

By gawd, it's diabolical.

To be honest, i thought they got so involved in intrigue and deception that they messed up!! No way did Jack know Kate before the crash. What always makes me mad is that Hurley looks to have gained some more weight!! He has to be the only human lost on an island gaining weight. And another thing--why does Charlie (that little whiney Aussie midget) have to die? Why doesn't he just step outside the hatch and close it from the outside and watch the room fill with water with Desmond. That wasn't heroic what he did. That was suicide and stupid (although i was happy to see him gone).

And another thing--did Skybook discontinue 107 lines for baseball? When they went to 107 they said it was for Football, Basketball and Baseball. Now yesterday, customer service said baseball doesn't get this treatment. Whats up with that??

Okay now we're getting somewhere. I know why you would think that. When they first speak on the island, it seems like they are introducing themselves.

But maybe it will turn out they were just being coy and they have a whole long history.

And another thing--why does Charlie (that little whiney Aussie midget) have to die? Why doesn't he just step outside the hatch and close it from the outside and watch the room fill with water with Desmond. That wasn't heroic what he did. Now this is a good point which also crossed my mind. I prefer to leave this under the heading of, "Let's just be glad the little fvck is gone and hopefully it won't all turn out to be a damn dream sequence or something and he's still on the show."




The one thing I could possibly see happening is that last night was a flash-forward and they will explain how Jack's father is alive by saying that the guy he thought was his father who dies in Australia turned out not to be. Sure, that seems like a longshot since the dad he was talking about last night worked at the same hospital and was a drunk - like the dad who dies in Australia (and is also Claire's father DUT, DUT, DUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!!!!!) - but some kind of improbable explanation is going to be required one way or the other.



Meanwhile if this whole thing links to Skybook's juice on baseball lines, it is even more diabolical than I could have imagined.

-looked like an african-american neighborhood (at least that's what they seem to portray there).

-this person obviously didn't really have any family or friends around (something could have happened to Walt in the meantime or it is possible Walt went back..this is really reaching)


From all this, I conclude it is Michael. Michael was one of the only ones to get off the island using a boat. Jack feels Michael was his only way of knowing how to get back on the island. Kate would not have wanted to go to the funeral since Michael killed so many of them on the island. Locke probably would have stayed on the island and I am going to assume Jack killed Ben or at the very least Ben stayed behind. Jack would have probably referred to Locke as a friend.

good point. i think walt and michael are both dead too. because when they left the island in the boat, ben must told someone to sink the boat. i don't believe michael and walt can get back to mianland with that little power boat...we all know it is a short distance boat.

besides, the monster on the island can only take shape of people who are either dead or imaginary (hurley's crazy bald friend), so it is pretty safe to say Walt is dead...but how they got michael's body back to the mainland is another interesting question.

this is a pretty good set up for the 4th season...so many unanswered questions.

charlie closed the door because he chose to do it. he knew his fate is to sacrific himself to save everyone else on the island. why didn't he ran out of the room then close the door? i think i have 2 possible answers 1) mihkal is the one who is going to destonate the grenade, so if charlie ran out, that crazy russian will figure some other way to kill them, so by staying in the room, he made sure desmond will be safe. 2) from watching the show, you know that charlie cannot escape the fate, so i guess he think this is the best time and best way to die...and he knew if he do not die here something will change and claire might not able to get off the island.

my opnion on the finale

personally, i don't really like the finale that much. too much jack. jack is an interesting character, but a hour on jack is a bit much.

this is the season finale, not what happened to jack after they left the island. i want to find out what happened to Sun, Hurley, Desmond, Syiad, Ben, and the others. personally, i find Sun's flashback the most interest.

i don't think ben will leave the island. ben will probably kill himself first before he leave the island.

Jack, Kate, Ben, Juliet, Danielle, both Koreans all fall in that category for me. (I don't know all the actors' names so I'm using the character names.)

(On a side note, I recall Juliet - Elizabeth Mitchell - having some very hot lesbian scenes with Angelina Jolie in the movie Gia. Thumbs up to that.)

Hurley seems like he could have a long career as the zany sidekick in various movies/TV roles. He's competent enough.

Harold Perrineau (Michael ??) is a pretty good actor. I've seen him in a few things.

Yeah, I guess he was a hobbit. As I recall he was one of the dozen or so characters who were officially in the "fellowship of the ring." There was him and another little guy who I think were supposed to be comic relief (although I didn't find them funny, just annoying).

I remember they were the ones getting carried around by those walking trees in the second installment.

I just looked it up and his character's name was Merry.



Speaking of evaluating the acting (and also Lord of the Rings) I could see Sawyer (Josh Holloway) having a Viggo Mortensen kind of career if he gets the right breaks.

They killed off one really cute chick, Cynthia Watros, who played Libby. At the same time she was killed, they killed Michelle Rodriguez, who has a nice body but not the prettiest face IMO.

Maggie Grace who played Shannon, the spoiled young airhead, also got killed off.

This show needs to take more care to hang on to its hot chicks. They killed off that other hot chick too who played an actress/jewel thief. She was only on for a handful of episodes.

Other candidates would be Sun, Claire, Juliet, Naomi. I'm not sure what French chick abacus is referring to. If it's Mila Furlan (Danielle), we would have to agree to disagree on her acting chops. She has a daughter Alex who is kind of cute.

Good points. Shannon is obvious choice for slutty reasons--but her whiny disposition wouldn't make her a long term choice. Kate's background makes her not a good choice--because if you ever got in an argument with her you would be afraid to sleep. I guess I find Juliet intriguing because it looks like she is hiding two midgets under that shirt.

AND at least one of those midgets could get out and call Skybook to find out why they took reduced juice off of baseball.

P.S. I would have chose Claire (gread bod and accent), but she kissed Charlie and I couldn't see myself doing a girl who had entertained thoughts of sleeping with that nasty, whiny worm.

I still think they will come up with some other explanation about Jack's father. Drunken out-of-it-ness seems too easy.

Like it will turn out that his real dad was someone else from the hospital doing his mom. Jack having a different dad would not even qualify as a medium-sized twist on that show.
