NewEgg, the number one online computer parts seller has been crashed by black friday today. Early this morning several million people connected and placed orders, crashing their database indexes etc.
When you place an order on New Egg, it will be lost. You will end up going through the checkout process, place the order, confirm it, and be given a confirmation page. HOWEVER, the conformation email, and the order invoice receipt that would be placed in your account for review, never shows up. Once you leave that confirmation page, it is like your order was never placed. Your shopping cart is emptied.
The order never even reaches your bank account! Support said they are calling it ghost orders, and they don't know what will happen.
