    no way. maybe a few at the collegiate level. Perhaps a third string offensive lineman knows his team can't cover the spread so he phones his betting cousin and tips him off. Officials, coaches, players at the professional level are all too well compensated to risk being caught and lose everything.

    I think the people on the periphery of the team are betting. Clubhouse attendants, physical therapists, batboys, media relatons directors, shot clock keepers, etc. I heard of one incidence where the shot clock keeper was betting heavily on the under in selected games. Then he'd let a few seconds tick off the clock whenever there was a timeout or clock stoppage.

      Players and managers are too rich to gamble, makes zero sense. Some refs do bet thinking they have an edge.

      Lots of mid level college players are betting now, heck lines right in their dorm rooms with online access and guys do not have that much money.
