Are SBR points better than real money ?

I know it doesn't math out.

It is some kind of pride thing, losing 100 points to somebody like Fishhead, would be worse than losing $100 of real money, IMO !

Points are neither better nor worse than real money. They are exactly the same thing as money. But not at a rate of 100 points = $100.

The way I play them, 100 points = ~$19

But I don't want to ridicule the original post. It is similar to how I have gotten carried away with picks in SBR contests sometimes. A few years I have contended in Beat The Prick right up until the end and I would find myself stressed over my BTP picks way out of proportion to real bets worth much more money.

Perhaps it is a similar psychological effect that Doug is describing.
