    Iverson to Retire from NBA
The latest news, videos, scores and more on the biggest sports, including NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, Soccer, Boxing, NASCAR and more with Sporting News

Allen Iverson intends to retire from the NBA, his manager told Yahoo! Sports.

Iverson, a 10-time All-Star and the 2001 MVP, left the Grizzlies this month after just three games in a move both sides called mutual.

Few NBA teams have shown interest in the 34-year-old guard since he left Memphis.

Iverson, who played with the 76ers from 1996 to 2006, ranks sixth all-time in points per game (27.0) and steals per game (2.2).

He was traded to the Nuggets in December 2006. Denver traded him to the Pistons last November.

To be honest I wouldn't have minded seeing him on my Knicks, but no biggie.

Couple years too late. Well maybe not considering the extra money made.

We'll see him again in Feb.

He is gonna be another Favre!

Didn't he say 2 weeks ago "I'm definitely coming back and playing again this year"

I really wouldn't be too suprised. As soon as a key point-guard gets injured he'll get the first call IMO.

I think he will. He may have said he is retiring from the NBA, but I bet we see him playing in Europe next year. I also think we will see a lot of young high schoolers going there to make a few bucks before they can go to the NBA without going to college. Money makes the world go 'round.

                                  Europe would love Iverson.
