Check out what women are rating the movie compared to men at IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1259571/ratings
This is particularly interesting, because the gender disparity for most movies by IMDB members isn't that great. I'm guessing these people typically see a lot of movies, so have become more centrist. For instance, Star Wars: A New Hope is a pretty manly movie, right? So is Army of Darkness? The differences are 8.8 to 8.5 and 7.6 to 7.6, respectively. How about two heavy chick flicks: Titanic and The Notebook. They are 7.9 to 7.2 and 8.6 to 7.8, going the other way. Far more men rated the former two movies, while it was a fair bit more even for the latter two (IMDB community is male-dominated overall), but still. Neither of these disparities come close to the Twilight movie.
So, is 'New Moon' the most feminine movie ever? Seems weird, even for a chicky vampire story. I've never watched Twilight, so someone explain this?
