Many sports experts have unequivocally stated that American sports are indeed dumbed down, yanks don't understand a "draw" they don't see the point, and there needs to be lots of advertising space to sell fried food products to the obese armchair bound fans, hence qtrs etc.

There is no point in me educating you further shamewoof as I believe you are like an old fashioned "flat earther" no matter how much wisdom, knowledge and proven evidence is provided and placed before you simply refuse to believe because you cannot face the undeniable truth.

You and your so called experts can suck my footballs... I want an answer and a straight one... Don't give me this "history shows this and history shows that.. experts proved this and that.." What is so much more advanced about soccer or rugby over football..? Giving me a straight answer tells me how much you know about both and so far you have been unable to give me an answer...

Food products have zero to do with the game dipsh*t... Lastly explain to me the benifit of a tie...? Why do you play in the first place.. why do you keep score... why does anyone care... because it's about winning dipsh*t not tieing...

The saying in the US is "We play to win"
Is the saying in the UK "We play to tie?"

I think a lot of the reason many of my fellow Americans seem to think soccer is so easy is because they have only seen the MLS on TV. It's about the equivalent of watching high school football, and as a result, saying NFL players aren't that skilled. If you would watch some of the top Spanish or English teams, I honestly think you would rethink your stance.
There is no doubt in my mind that at a random high school in midtown USA, more of the soccer players could successfully play football than vice versa.

EXACTLY I THINK THE PENNY HAS FINALLY DROPPED!!!!

Sometimes in a game, when two sides play each other and are equally matched in every respect the result may be a draw, now, as shown in your post this simple system and fact is impossible for an American to understand, so to avoid this complicated scenario methods were developed to avoid this outcome and dumb the game down to a level that an AmeriKKKan audience can understand.

Basically AmeriKKKan sport has been developed for children like Shamswoof say things like

The same children are the ones in shops screaming at the tops of their voices " MOM, MOM GET ME THAT TOY NOW, I WANT IT I WANT IT!" then lie on the floor kicking and crying.

Life is not black and white, win and lose Shamewoof, to further yourself as an adult for you must grasp that concept.

I have no doubt handling a ball with your feet is a skill and a tough one but so is hitting a tiny ball with a club... I am middle eastern boys and was NOT born in the states so please save your BS about what soccer is.. I KNOW!!! I also coached guys coming over from the soccer team to play HS varsity football and you are WRONG in saying soccer players could play football... They are too small, slow, and/or not strong enough for MOST but not all positions... They can kick and punt with a little modification (that was my specialty "special teams and kicking coach")

So far you have told me the RESULT of playing a tie game... You make it sound cool with grammer like you are repeating a so called expert.. yeah right... I know the RESULT of a tie game you stupid f*ck... Now let me ask you again what is the BENIFIT of a tie game....? BENIFIT... HELLOOOO? do I have to define it for you ? BENIFIT DOES NOT = RESULT so take your math and stick it somewhere...

What the hell does wanting a toy have anything to do with our topic...? I am foreign and I see this with them A LOT... They compare how spoiled Americans are to everything even if it is not relavent to the topic as in this case... My dad does it all the time and it's jelousy of course.... You're mom didn't buy you that toy for the same reason US bettors are more valuable.. WE AS A COUNTRY HAVE MORE THEN YOU so deal with it and also because she doesn't love you and I can see why...

I know you are stupid and things have to be cLEARLY explained to you so I will keep that in mind... We'll start now... that picture of that linemen is NOT the athlete you are going to see... If you read your ticket again you will realize it's this linemen you are going to see...

The preparation takes MUCH longer because it's MUCH more complex... NO SPORT compares to Football as far as how closely related it is to CHESS from both a coaches and a players perspective...
I'm sorry, but this is comical. Football is complex because you run plays? Yes, because doing what someone else instructs from the snap of the ball until the whistle is very complex. The best player in football is Ladanian Tomlinson. What does he really do? Gets handed the ball and runs a certain direction behind a blocking scheme. The whole play takes about five seconds. Sure, there is a lot of preparation, but it's not because it's complex.
What makes soccer so beautiful is that there are no plays. It's the nature of 11 men basically on an island against 11 men. Sure, their coaches have prepared them, and they will occasionally bark instruction during the course of play, but for the most part, the game is decided by the players and the players only. In football, the QB often will run over towards the coach after every play. Perhaps a new player is brought in with the play. Or, in the NFL, the play is radioed in on a headset. Let's not compare this to chess. Vince Young made a 6 out of 50 on his Wonderlic test, and was rookie of the year last year.
On a fourth and one, a football coach will call timeout, and call a play and what not. On a free kick, the players just take it. Instead of the coaches controlling everything, a moment of individual brilliance can win a game - or a lapse in concentration can lose it.

First of all, Jamie takes it in the ass. Secondly, I could go on forever talking about why you are wrong about sports in the United States. I am not here to say soccer is a bad sport, but you are making yourself look like a fool trying to have an opinion about something you know nothing about. I could write a novel letting you know why you are wrong, and maybe I will tomorrow when I have more time, but for now I just wanted to let you know that you take it in the ass. Kill yourself.

Cwsulzba, I noticed two things when I came here tonight

                            1) This is a handicapping forum
                            2) Your English is poor

It occurred to me that you may have arrived here on the mistaken assumption that this is a forum for the mentally "handicapped" , which would of course be a forum to which you would fit in nicely.

This is one of many points to why football is much more complexed and a tougher sport outright to play.... Take a QB for instance... have you ever dropped back to pass and listened to the sound of several guys coming to knock your head off...? It's not sooothing let me tell you... IT ADDS RISK which makes it harder then soccer... If you don't kick the ball in time you might get it taken away from you and maybe even get a leg injury... If you are a QB and you don't get it away in time MUCH more is at risk and that thought along with recognizing where your recievers are going to be and in what Defensive coverage/blitz you and your team are facing... All done in a matter of seconds...

Yeah it's more complexed because you run plays duuhhh... Don't leave out what goes into making up and running these plays... You say 11 guys against 11 guys on an island in soccer ...well how the hell many do you think are on a football field per side at once and if they are not on an island then where are they ....the moon.? Get a f*ckin' better example... These guys have to spend HOURS and days to prepared to make up these plays as well as fine tune the timing of all 11 men... They study hours of film to try and figure out even the littlest detail... Young not getting a high score means he was not good at that test but what he does study he is good at...

You say 11 guys against 11 guys on an island in soccer ...well how the hell many do you think are on a football field per side at once and if they are not on an island then where are they ....the moom..? Not sure what the moom is, but they huddle every 20 seconds. They go to the sideline every couple minutes. Soccer players go to the sideline virtually never.
All free flow is taken out of football. I enjoy the game, but it's robotic in nature. Now, if you're talking about the preparation by coaches, I totally agree. They spend hours upon hours studying film and what not.
Not that it matters at all, but you are totally out of your head if you think the risk in football is substantially greater than that in soccer. Look at the FA Cup Final Saturday - half the regulars on both teams are missing. How many regulars were missing in the Super Bowl? 2 or 3?

Half of a soccer team is what .? Does an NFL team have that number missing by Super Bowl time.. yeah likely... Football FOR SURE has more risk and incase you don't know the players study film now almost as much as coaches.... Soccer is OK but very primative and simple...

Free flow my as*... You can't have something so complexed run continiously like that stupid clock in soccer... That is stupid not to stop it because no one ever knows how much time is really left and dont' tell me that's the beauty of it either...
