2 Question about PDA's, internet access, and Mobile ESPN
    1) Which PDA's are the best in terms of accessing offshore books on their browsers?

    and..

    2) Does anyone use Mobile ESPN? They switched from Sprint to Verizon and I'm curious how much "great content" is really on there that cannot be accessed by regular internet.

Thanks for your help with these queries.

Sorry I only have the answer to your first question.

I have a PPC 6700 (Sprint/Audiovox). Love the phone! Good for eveything on the internet although it does have some problems when opening larger more complicated sites. WAP pages are the way to go but you can use regular sites too!

So many phones hard to really say which one is the best. It depends on the site, some phones strong in certain areas and other phones strong in certain areas, no phone is all in one and you can say the best. I would not use a blackberry for internet use.

i dont shill for sprint generally, but i have to recommend getting a SERO (sprint employee referral offer) plan and then getting either a TREO 700wx or the motorola q. i myself have the treo and can vouch for the ability to place wagers using the mobile phone browser on WSEX very easily and sportsbook.com with less ease. sb.coms frames screw everything up, but it is still possible. the plan is 30 bucks a month and includes 500 minutes, but also unlimited internet access. so it's great for checking scores on games and texting and sending emails. the drawback is that sprint's coverage is touch and go in places and their customer service is less than desired, but in a way, for 30 bucks a month, you get what you pay for. oh and the phones are a little pricey, 100 bucks for a Q and 250 for a treo.

Treo is too bulky though, the Q is pretty cool.

As far as I know Mobile ESPN is no more. I had it last year and in December was told it was going away. It may have switched carriers, but its just content. You can no longer get the cool ESPN phone. I think you might be able to find the same stuff on another carrier. BTW, the video was awful. I tried watching a live game and it was so terrible I gave up after a few minutes.

a little bulky yes, but the Q doesnt have a touch screen. a big plus. the real pain is not so much the bulk, but the ugly antenna. the new treo doesnt have one, but it's only available for "the new att" as far as i know.

Yes and no. You must have had ESPN Mobile through Sprint. They are no longer with Sprint, and yes the ESPN phone is no longer available.

Now it's called "Mobile ESPN" and it's available through Verizon. I don't know how much different it is than the Sprint service but I plan on looking into it.

Great info here from everyone. Thx for sharing.

Thanks gridiron...I will look into as well. Let me know what you find out. I liked the service. Plus, my wife wants to get a cell phone and I think she wants to get Verizon.

Thx crackerjack. My current cell ph contract runs out in early July, so it'll be a month and a half before I really look into it, but I'll report back here whether or not I believe it's worth it. My buddy had ESPN Mobile with Sprint so he can let me know if Verizon is just good, better, or perhaps nowhere close.

I'll try and remember to report it back here in the thread, but as I said it won't be until early July.

                        Please do the same. Thanks.
