    Is Derrick Rose completely overrated?
From his stats he has regressed this year and he really wasnt that great in his ROY year last year.

I mean he is a nice player but far from a superstar IMO

For a PG he doesnt even get 6 assists and he doesnt shoot the 3 at all.

No superstar but it is early in his career, shooting is sketchy also

Jennings on Bucks is much more of an impact player

Rose is all athletic ability. In high school and college he could out run and jump everyone. To excel in the pros you have to have the mental part too, especially at PG. He does not have that mental ability.

You have to have a smart PG to win in the pros. Look at the teams that win, look at their PG's intellect.

Rose is HURT. He is not close to 100%. Of course he is not overrated, did you see what he did last year as a rookie? Guy is gonna be a superstar.

I said he would be a bust before last year's draft and that OJ Mayo and Eric Gordon would be better pros. Everyone said I was crazy but he's proving me right so far.

He's just another below avg player whose stock skyrocketed after a good run in March Madness. But such players have traditionally been busts: Marcus Fizer, Ed O'Bannon, Mike Conley Jr, Greg Oden, Jerome Moiso, etc.

5Starstiff claimed Rose would be better than Chris Paul..... about as accurate as his prediction that Milton Bradley would help the Cubs win the pennant.

Agree with Dagger, think he is not as good as many think and that Eric Gorden is going to be a better player in the long run.

They guy is banged up, in his 2nd season. He had a great playoffs, I think time will tell. He will be an all-star, but its to early to say he will or won't be better than Paul.

nope, not a chicago fan. just know good players when its obvious and right in front of my face. he will be an all-star, theres no doubt about that. when healthy, nobody his size can even guard him.

has he made a 3 yet this year? wait let me ask a different question.....HAS HE TAKEN A 3 POINTER YET THIS YEAR????

he has been suffering from a bad ankle all year, and he is starting to get more aggressive... but the guy is dumb for a PG, which I do think is important for some.

two games ago, he said throughout the Chicago media, that he was changing his game and gonna start driving more, being more aggressive, and gonna try to "lead" the team.

he has responded with two straight games where he shot 20 times (when he used to avg 12 and his season high was 15) and he scored 20 and 28 (when his avg WAS 12 a game)

so I'd give him some time to grow into his position, but he'll never be a TRUE semi-star until he at least ATTEMPTS a 3

Rose is a top 8 PG, and two years from now will be elite imo.

Who cares if he can't shoot the three, he is an incredible player. He is hurt this year and the team around him blows.

can't have a "GREAT" PG that doesn't at least present the threat of shooting the # at some point in time.

he won't be able to drive, drive, drive, drive.... especially as he gets older, if he clanks 8 out of every 10 ( a year) deep shots he takes. Defenses will and already are adjusting

he can work on his shot. easy thing to improve. Lebron James used to be a pretty average at best shooter also and people said the same thing about him, but now he's a terrific shooter and only getting better and better.

Rose works really hard. he will only get better and better.

in Lebron's rookie year he made 63 3's and shot 29% behind the arc

his soph year (at 19) he got a little bit better and made 108 and shot .351 (his best year to date)

Lebron STILL doesn't shoot well... only .329 for his career and he hasn't gotten better since his soph year..... but at least he TAKES them

Rose made 16 his rookie year, that retarded autistic sportscenter boy hit half that in 4 mins in one game.... he shot 22% his rookie year

so far this year he has ATTEMPTED 4

MADE ZERO...HE is already 21.... what prevented him from taking 1000 3's a day all off season to be better this year?

                                      He doesn't have the committment

                                            for the record Rondo averaged

                                            22.6 pts
                                            10.8 rebs
13.3 assists for that series....and most importantly...

2.5 turnovers.... I'm SURE that rose averaged 2 times more turnovers a game, and in a series that went to 3 or 4( I can't remember exactly) and had so many close finishes.... 3 less turnovers a game, is MORE than the reason the Celtics won

You say Rose will never be an elite PG until he improves his perimeter shooting, then point to a guy like Rondo? Rondo's the worst shooting PG in the league. All his offense comes inside the lane. Defenses don't even guard him outside of 15 feet.

D-Wade also wasn't a 3-point shooter when he entered the league. Rarely even attempted one his first few seasons. Still isn't a particularly good 3-point shooter, although he's at least now a threat from outside.

didn't point to Rondo, BUT to say that Rose was by FAR only the second best pg in that series, so don't talk about how great he was in that series... and again the most telling stat is Rose turning the ball over about 8 times a game that series.

can't compare D.Rose to Lebron or Wade.... apples and oranges, even though they both (as does rondo) shoot better than him...

with rose being a pg and not a sg, smaller, less explosive and less well rounded..... I'd take Lebron, rondo, or Dwayne wade if they never shot a 3 again in their lives....

I'd not take Rose unless he develops into a 33-36% 3 point shooter at LEAST.... he just falls short in all the other categories to take him UNLESS he develops a shot
