    Internships and lunch interviews
anyone ever been to a 'lunch interview'?

I'm meeting with 3 employees tomorrow for one of these, any tips?

I've been to plenty...but have never really given lunch interviews much thought.

    Relax.
    Use proper table manners.
    Don't order alcohol.
Don't order anything too expensive (if you get to order).
Tell them you're open to any food...then when they make a suggestion, say that's fine (the reason I say this is because I'm a food snob but, of course, not during lunch interviews).
Don't add salt/pepper without first trying the food.

      Good advice LLXC

Just be yourself ZT and don't get yourself worked up from being too nervous, just relax, have good manners, and enjoy the interview/luncheon.

            Thanks mate!

Lunch interview is foreign to me, it'd be difficult to have a full blown convo with 3 people and eat at the same time.

I might just order light and something I can chow down on quickly

My last lunch interview, there were like 7 others. Definitely order something easy to eat cause you'll be talking most of the time.

                  quick update

first time doing a day long interview process, there were 5 rounds, 98 people and 10 spots and it was an elimination type process - lunch one went well, got into round 4 then they told me I could go home
so I thought fukk didn't get it, but what do you know, they called me next day and asked me to come in

but they called me at lunch time and I was tipsy by then with my mates at the pub so I told the human resources chick that I couldn't make it to the interview (which she had asked me to come in at 6 that evening) and she said she would reschedule and get back to me...

that was yesterday, havent heard from her so I gave her a call, left a voice mail message but I fukked up and sound like a dickhead in the message stumbling on my words

what should I do now? wait it out and hope she calls me back tomorrow? or call again tomorrow?

Also, I have noticed that every group interview group always has a loud, obnoxious fukk that is overly confident and tries to undermine everyone. I wonder if those types of people get hired. They make it hard to get a fukking word in!!

oh and I ordered the smallest dish for lunch and barely touched my food but I did pick up the knife and fork alot to pretend to cut it up but was too busy talking and didnt want to keep eye contact with the interviewers AND eat at the same time..

hungry as fukk by round 4 lol tip for anyone going lunch interview - just eat a huge breakfast or snack away when u get the chance

The interviewers probably had the same impression as you (i.e obnoxious fuk). Good Luck...hope you nail it.

I was quiet because I didn't wanna talk over people like most of them were doing. They asked me in the later round what I should've done differently in the group interview and I said spoke more, guy asked me why I didn't, I said that I didn't want to be rude and I wanted to be considerate etc. Guy was nodding and said he agreed. Phew

yeah I regret turning it down. I was tipsy though, wouldve been talking sht if I went. but yeah I feel like they're a big company and they won't reschedule for me.

is it bad to call them again?

Internship? I went through apples interview game, but then found somewhere else because I got tired of the bullshit they play with you. I hope you enjoy your stay most tech companies are all about personality and fitting in with the team now as opposed to you being 4.0 and know every language because they can teach you that.

I hope you enjoy your stay most tech companies are all about personality and fitting in with the team now as opposed to you being 4.0 and know every language because they can teach you that.
100% agreed. They were more interested if I had passion for technology and said they could teach me the rest. Good for me, bad for the other guys who knew their technical stuff but didn't have an ounce of personality
