MNF game was the Bizarro-world SNF game!

Was just thinking about the difference between those two games.

One was an instant-classic between two perennial rivals and contenders, featuring all kinds of fireworks and top-notch play, featuring gamesmanship and a great chess game between the two smartest and best QBs... and was capped off by a call that generated endless hours of discussion and about 1,253,648 posts in SBR Forum!!!

Then you had a completely unwatchable game, featuring a completely hapless team with the most pathetic offense in the history of the NFL. The first half was at least semi-interesting because it was close and the Browns D was keeping them in it... but then Brady Quinn took a dump on the field as soon as the second half started, and it was actually painful to watch any more of it!!

I find it somewhat amazing that every year the good teams remain good and the crappy teams stay bad. Indy and New England are both solid franchises and never rebuild, they just reload. It starts with ownership.

Baltimore has enjoyed some success but I hate their style of play. The Browns have a terrible owner and their team is even worse.

You're absolutely right, Bob, it starts at the top. There are great organizations who know how to stay competitive -- and who bring in the right people to oversee everything -- and then there are organizations who have no friggin' clue what it takes to build a platform for long-term success.

I do like it when bad teams take that step and become good... maybe Cincy is on the way. Although they certainly don't care about player character after bringing LJ in! I thought Atlanta was on the way, but they're having some issues. Poor Buffalo is about 10 years away.

Both games were winners for me so they were equally good (I had a little more on NE covering mind you).
