#38Colts were horrible last week. Bad coaching by Belichek made them look better but the Raven defense will rip Manning apart.
Pavy, why am I NOT surprised by your belief that Belichek made a mistake going for it on 4th and 2. Your wrong about everything else so it only makes sense you're wrong about Belichek's call as well.

To all of you who mistakenly believe Belichek made the wrong decision by going for it, here is a lesson about calculating percentages which will make all you sheep better gamblers:

2 scenarios (its 4th and 2 on NEngland's own 28 with NE leading 34-28 with 2:08 remaining)

1st scenario:
Do exactly what Belichick did and go for it on 4th and 2.

What is the percentage chance that New England gains the necessary 2 yards and puts the game away? Considering how prolific the New England offense is, I put the chances of New England making the first down about 70X out of 100. However, so there is no dispute, lets say New England only makes the first down 60 times out of 100 (does not make the 1st down the other 40X).

What is the percentage chance Indy wins the game after New England fails to convert the 4th down attempt? When New England failed to convert that 4th down attempt, Matchbook's live betting market for the straight up had the Colts at +160 for massive volume which means you could have bought the Colts @ +160 to win the game at that point. This equates to the Colts having a 38% chance to win (NE 62% chance to win).

When you multiply these 2 events (40% chance of NEngland failing to get the 1st down X 38% chance of Colts winning the game at that point), the chances of the Colts winning the game were 15% once Belichick made the decision to go for it.

If Belichick punts the ball on 4th and 2 from NEngland's 28 yard line, what are the chances the Colts win the game in that scenario?

Lets assume the Colts get the ball at their own 30 yard line (this assume no Indy blocked punt or big return as factoring in these things would make Belichick's decision look even better).

What are the chances the Colts win the game with 2 minutes to go starting from their own 30? Would you put the odds higher or lower than 15% of the time? Anyone who has watched Peyton Manning and the Colts knows the chances of Manning going down the field in that scenario are FAR BETTER than 15%.

Therefore, Belichick's decision to go for it on 4th and 2 was by far and away the right call.

#47Colts were horrible last week. Bad coaching by Belichek made them look better but the Raven defense will rip Manning apart.
Rigggghhhhtttt! The Colts have only beaten the Ravens 6 in a row and all by more than a TD! Peyton occasionally gets impatient and struggles with teams that play the safeties really deep but the Ravens bring pressure and single cover receivers! In the Colts SB run...the Ravens held Indy to 15 pts but usually Peyton lights them up!
Some very interesting variables for this game to consider as well! The Colts have alot of young players and could easily have a letdown after the game-of-the year and all the hype that came with it! On the other side we have Baltimore and their fans who go ape$hit with anger every time the Colts come to town since the Horseshoes left them high-n-dry in what seems like 160 years ago! I'm speaking for all Indy residents when I say....GET THE FC OVER IT
I'm be playing the Colts small in this one just because of the matchups and the fact that Indy can load the box and not have to worry about the Ravens mediocre receivers! The Colts can only pull out so many squeakers though before a few don't go our way!Comment -

#56The Over IMO is the play here. You know 18 will get his TD tosses and Addai scores one rushing. Joe Fukko should be able to move the ball against the Indy DB's and their Run D is suspect.
Let Vegas make thier money on the side ... I will take thiers on the total.Comment -

#63the colts know they played very badly last week and it should light a fire under their asses that they cant sleep walk through games. I do like the colts to a certain extent, i think they win but certainly not a big play. Flacco probably will continue to struggle after the good start and the ravens defense isnt as good as it was in years past and people dont realize this.Comment -

I agree Pumpernickel Bread, Indy hasn't lost to Baltimore since before 2002, and the y usually cover, 4 - 1 since that time also, hell while I'm at it the under is 4 - 1 also. Don't be fooled by the Ravens shuting out the Clowns this past Monday, their defense isn't as good as it once was, and Peyton has been smoking them even when they where that good. It will be a Monday night hangover for the Ravens as the Colts beat them by 5 this week.Comment -
