Do all Poker rooms have the 'reducing' rule?
    Reducing:

When a player wins and has more chips than at the start of play, it can be tempting to leave the table, and then immediately return with fewer chips. This is called "reducing" and is not permitted in our poker room. If a player leaves a table they must wait 60 minutes before returning with fewer chips. If they wish to return within the 60 minutes they must sit down with the same amount of chips they left with.
There are also situations when a player has lost money and wishes to return to a table he recently left. In this case the same reducing rule applies. Specifically, if a player sits down with 1,000, loses 200 and then leaves with 800, he must sit down with 800 if he re–joins the same table within 60 minutes

I find this rule a tad ridicolous. Is there any Poker room that does not have this rule?

    Thanks

Good. I've often been in a cash table, doubled or tripled my 'buy in' and would like to remove 2/3 of it and continue playing with my original 'buy in'. My current room won't let me do that which is why I'm considering moving elsewhere (to a room that allows this).

      Anyone got any suggestions?

Most rooms won't let you do this, and with good reason. It's the same thing as ratholing chips.

Switching tables is fine. But it's unfair to the other players at the table (specifically those whose chips you may have just won) to just take your winnings and put them in your pocket and continue to play with your original (already short) amount. Short stackin and hit and run players are viewed negatively in poker circles. I'm sure u can understand why.

This is why I post questions up here. To get a better perspective on things. In conclusion, you guys are correct. I just initially thought it was a good way to control my funds. Now that I think about it, it's a unfair thing to do.

if the money you win means so much that you want to take it off the table, then either:

                  1. you are playing too high stakes for your bankroll
                  2. you are not good enough and need to practice at lower stakes until you feel more comfortable

as long as i take their money i give a shit what other players think about me
but i dont get it why you are thinking about changing the poker site , just stand up and sit down at an other table.

See OP. This is why my initial post was so combative towards short stacking.
