So my fiancé calls up the gown shop from where she ordered her wedding dress in order to get the dress refitted -- Phone disconnected.
She sends them an e-mail -- Bounced back.
Website -- down.
So I did a bit of research and it turns out that they went out of business last year.
After a couple of days of phoning around I manged to get in touch with the owner. She provided some lame excuse and claimed that all dresses she had had in inventory had been given away to charity. I asked the natural question, which was how a wedding dress for which we had already paid $5,000 had been given away. Her response, "Oh I thought she didn't want it."
So Jen (my fiancé) is pretty upset about this and so by extension I am, too. It isn't even the money, apparently it's some sort of a great dress -- all white and everything with dress stuff everywhere. I told her it was for the better as she definitely shouldn't be wearing white anyway because she's kind of a whore, but for some reason she didn't like that comment as much as I would have thought.
So it looks like headache central for the foreseeable future ...
