You should have made a partition on your HD, moved your stuff over, and formatted the original partition, then installed the OS. Good luck.

I've never had a headache with windows since winXP sp2. This new laptop ROCKS!

This is just the 1st time in many years I'm doing an upgrade over an older OS

I'm in the same boat, I'm thinking of just keeping Vista, I have so many programs loaded on my laptop and don't feel like going through all of the hassle. I'm building a new desktop with Win7 now too. GL Sam

Don't believe the Mac commercials/hype/bs, Windows is just fine if aren't a complete idiot, if you still want to believe it will fry your hd go right ahead

For using the next to gamble, post, and jack off, a MAC is overboard. I got 400 dollar PC with Win 7, 4gb, 2.1hz, 250 HD,Intel Pentium Dual Core

MAC can't touch those specs for price. Can't beat it, just like a sore dick.

The mistake you made was not buying a Mac. I own a Macbook and an Imac. Safari is the best! Macs are so much smoother than any other kind of computer. It's like driving a Honda compared to a Benz. Not even in the same ballpark.

Morning Update

All is well that ends well !

Had a few issues but all of them worked-out. All of my 3rd party software is working including iTunes (ipod & iphone) iTunes was more or a problem than the rest

Needed new video & sound drivers so I DL them with no problems

Like many have said , "if your computer runs Vista well it will run better/faster with Win7" -- I believe that to be true

As you can see the 4yr old video card is the weak link in the system
