Anyone work at a company who ever lost one of their top five or so clients?
Off-topic question here. What's it like adjusting when you lose a big client? Was there a lot of finger pointing? Did anyone get canned? How did you make up the revenue lost?

No I have not and of our top 5 #1 accounts for 90% of buisiness so if we lost a top 5 no harm unless it is #1 at which point we would go down unless we got creative and found another huge account or several midsized accounts within 3 months

How big of a company are you talking about? I work for a major insurance company and it happens. You just move on and court new clients.

When this happens the first reaction is layoffs. So if 20% of revenue was lost expect 20% layoffs. Finger pointing is not a priority.. just reduce the personnel to offset loss of revenue.

Makes sense, topgame. I think losing our #1 would be bad since we've soaked in a lot of resources to give them a lot they want. Time will tell.

I would hope we could do that, rob. There are other fish in the sea for sure.

I'm sure this is a possibility, pavy. I don't know if one relationship would cause us to miss numbers badly enough but I am sure a few people will need to be "re-purposed" at a minimum.

We did not lose any major customers, but were down 60% in sales for most of the year - domestically and overseas. There was nothing left to do but lay off most of our people. It was brutal.

It is all about finding a golden goose and taking care of buisinss over the past two years the workforce has been cut 50% but our buisiness has increased, basically the owner decided to go with his A team which luckily I am # 1 on and fired everyone else or cut their hours, sometimes buisinesses restructure and that is why you have to bust your ass to show you are #1 at all times or at least the most important times, companies that hire and keep idiots (several of whom i have worked for in the past) are destined to fail CS and pre-emptive planning makes and defines a company damage control and half assed employees can eat a company whole quickly. Although my actions outside of work canbe crazy and reckless I never let ANY of that interfer with m-f 9-7 (long hrs but yes it is worth it!)
