As Soon As You Are A Plus For The Week
Quit and wait until following week to bet again. This is the best advice you will ever get about any form of gambling.

Aside from making you gamble less, what sense does this make? So you feel good about having winning weeks? Money is still money.

Well when your up most of the time you give it all back by end of the week, I would try it and watch your bankroll grow.

i see your logic, but that would basically disallow you from hitting any really hot streak. i lose 3/4 weeks, but usually that 1 winning week keeps me near even

Obviously if you know what you are doing you should place every possible bet where you have a positive expectation regardless of where you stand financially for any arbitrary time period whether that be a week, a month, whatever.

But this is reasonably okay advice for bettors who lose in the long run - which, let's face it, is most bettors. Another more generic way to put it would be: if you lose, find any reason you can to avoid placing bets.

I could see that maybe if you were playing with a local. However, not everyone here plays with locals on this forum coach.

I've seen people pull this stuff all the time when there hovering right around the pay point towards the end of the week. Personally though I'm just crushing my man that particular week, theres no way I'm gonna back off anything I like.

I think that jjgold should write a book containing such gems as this - he could certainly give Stanford Wong a run for his money.

Playing Blackjack I usually do have a strategy of a daily maximum win in a certain casino. Or if it is a place where I only go for a few days lets say maybe once a year, then I have a maximum winning amount for the trip. Reasons are:
                A) If you won a lot, what is the point of starting to lose.
                B) If you would win even more, it will surely put attention on you.

Good advice as usual Coach....newbies should sign up for your course...a few guys on here could use the intensive summer course on gambling you teach. You'd definitely find it under Life and Survival Studies.

Here is my strategy. Every time I win I bet half of my winnings till I lose. Then I stop and wait till the next day. Once I win my original deposit back, then I bet all of my winnings till I lose and over the next day again. I have used this strategy in the last six months with average winnings of $500 per week.

I think what might be at work behind this approach is the elimination of more compulsive and therefore possibly weaker wagers.

The notion that when the bettor starts a fresh week they're thoughtful and shopping wisely. With a few wins early in the week, perhaps the wagerer can fall prey to a little arrogance, or folly at least, which is very likely to be met with retribution.

Mathematically, or systematically, I'm not sure it adds up, but human nature-wise it could.

What if you win on the Monday Night game (NFL)? Do you quit because you are ahead for the week? As long as you kept winning that MNF bet, you'd never make another bet. What's the fun in that? Good strategy if all you want is a small profit, but most gamblers are recreational...they want to win, but losses are written off as "entertainment costs."

I will make a wager when I think there is +EV regardless if I am up 20 units or down 20 units for the week.

If I listened to this advice, I would be getting paid about 1 unit this week instead of having to pay out 1 unit (lost 2 units total on Sunday), but I have no regrets over any of the wagers yesterday.

I think the lesson here is a good one and and is pretty straightforward: If you're a recreational bettor (or a professional for that matter) be careful not to get carried away and bet too much.

If you win on Monday Night and don't bet again to the following week your year end stats will be way better compared to if you bet everyday. You have way more bad weeks than good weeks and way more losing streaks than winning streaks. I am giving you the best advice you will ever get.

JJ, appreciate you sharing. I think that betting less can mean making more money. Carefully researching your next play, with 6 days to do it, could be the way to go. I'm too much of a ****ing degenerate though to go a whole week without placing a wager. LOL!

continue your daily routine, stay focus and do not chage your strategy only because your up a few bucks.
