GoBlue, quit your crying. If you knew anything at all about boxing you'd have seen that coming. I usually don't get on here to be a prick, but that was his game plan, he stuck to it, and he clearly won the fight. He landed at double the rate of Oscar, landed the single best punch of the fight (at the bell in the 10th), landed the majority of the power punches thrown, and just outclassed Oscar. You may have been fooled by all the hooting that went on every time Oscar threw a wild flurry, but when 90% of the crowd is behind one guy, you get unbridled optimism. Your guy lost. End of story.

It is debatable that Oscar beat Tito, it is debatable that he beat Mosley both times... however... it is not debatable that he beat Mayweather last night. The fight was dominated by Mayweather more than the scorecards reflected. And I am an Oscar fan who was rooting for him, saying this.

Mayweather, in the 5 times I've watched him fight, is one of the best ever in the modern era, perhaps of all-time. The guy has everything you would want in a boxer.

        Running? It's called boxing.

Floyd dominated from start to finish and completely outclassed DLH. I don't know what fight you were watching.

Are you guys for real? He outclassed him? How? HE RAN THE WHOLE FIGHT! And did you hear all of his BS before the fight? Im am not sure how ANYONE, little lone an Oscar fan can say he lost - you guys know nothing about boxing then - not me. Anyway his own dad said he lost the fight!

I am not sure what fight you guys saw but he sure did not outclass Oscar. Like Oscar said if he did press the fight there would not have been a fight.

Yeah, I know it is boxing but when you call a guy a fag, say you are going to ice him, willing to die in the ring and don't have the HEART to back it up - not run - is a joke!

Yeah that is what I am saying The way Floyd fought is a joke if you listen to all his talk. Oscar I feell won the fight as he was the only one in the ring that was there to fight!

As evidenced by the nearly 2-1 punch landed ratio that Mayweather compiled (including the hardest punch of the fight). Look, if you're saying that the more aggressive fighter should win regardless of precision, and that defense doesn't matter in boxing, then I recommend you stick with the heavyweight group and be done with it. It was a virtuoso performance that most true boxing fans had to appreciate. Maybe it wasn't as action-packed as some observers had wished, but it was a well-crafted fight plan and was executed perfectly. I think they'll fight again, and I think you'll see the exact same thing happen. Mayweather is (and always has been) a very elusive fighter. Why would he change at this point of his career?

ho hum. the fight was boring. pretend you are some boxing afficionado (read snob) if you like, but honestly, mayweather should apologize for talking tough in his living room like he was going to murder him and then flinching and every time de la hoya cocked his arm. by the way i had mayweather too, so i am not that bitter. just bored. if this was the fight to save boxing, then it's only a matter of time till MMA overtakes it.

I didn't shell out the money so will have to revisit the thread in a week with thoughts.

I am pumped that independent production of UFC events is coming to HBO this summer. I don't want to see boxing die, but I do want to keep see MMA expanding.
