    computer help
I have windows xp right now but i am getting a new computer with windows vista. I use some software everyday with xp and have to update it every day. I can save this software on a disc before i get rid of my old computer but i want to be able to get access to this software from the desktop of vista instead of having to put the disc in the computer everyday. Will i be able to put this info from the disc on to the vista desktop once i get it? Also i need to transfer my music files. What would be the easiest way for that? thanks

buying a flash disc would probably be the easiest for transfering music files.

as for your software its a bit trickier. Your software would probably require installation and thus you need to have an installation package of it (disc probably). If you don't have it then you need to detect and gather in all library files used by your software manually, copy them to your vista computer and register them manually as well. And only then comes the hardest par - your software probably stores its settings into registry whichyou need to find and transfer as well. Judging by how you asked your question that would be a pretty tricky isht for you and hopefully you got an installation package of your soft.
