#38Actually, the GOP of old was known for balancing the budget and the core belief of the party used to be all about smaller government.
Unfortunately, they completely strayed from these ideals and infuriated conservatives.
It was this reason and this reason only why the democrats took back control of congress in 2006 and won the White House in 2008 and NOT because of any change in the democratic party platform because there wasn't any.
As far as the "crappy party" you speak of, things only began going downhill after the democrats took back control of congress in late 2006. While I am not blaming the democrats directly, you sure can't dispute the timeline involved.
As far as the left is concerned, anyone who dislikes Obama is branded a racist.
I am proud to say I don't like Obama's politics and I also don't like the man or his wife on a personal level either as both of them are die-hard racists through and through. What does it say about the Obama's that they would expose their 2 little girls to the hatred spewed out by Jeremiah Wright each and every Sunday?
When Bush was spending like a maniac, conservatives bashed him for it and when he wouldn't stop, we made our feelings known at the polls to the obvious benefit of the democrats.
Now your man is spending at a rate way worse than Bush ever did and the democrats in congress are giving him the same blank check just like the republicans gave Bush. Liberals, ITS YOUR TURN to express the same outrage at Obama as you did at Bush.
Republicans have always claimed that liberals care far more about political gain than they do about our country's well being. You have the chance to PROVE US WRONG.
Will you step up to the plate and tell Obama you strongly disapprove of his reckless spending or are you going to sit back and defend him no matter what he does? My money is on the latter!!!Comment -

#40Originally posted by Shafted69BUSH signed the 2009 spending budget therefore he & the entire congress owns it. It's not a one way street by any means. Spending appropriations requests came from both sides of the aisle. According to the CBO, $185 Billion of the $787 Billion Stimulus will be spent in 2009 and the rest will be unleashed in 2010. So the 2009 charts are accurate. You're the one who needs to get your facts straight before you start your bigoted trolling.
b) I did not anywhere in my post defend President Bush or the Republicans. I only said that the Democrat controlled congress owns it. Do please comprehend when you read what I write.
iii) what exactly did I say which was bigoted? All I said was "your grandchildren are 110% screwed," which is not a bigoted statement, just an inarguable statement of fact.
Have a nice day.Comment -

#41Consumer Sentiment plummets to 66! Bang up job, Big O! Keep handing out those reparations to the unemployed rather than FIXING the problem. Then blame it all on Whitey.
"The Reuters/University of Michigan consumer sentiment index fell back a very steep 4.6 points to a very weak 66.0.The weakness is rooted in the still contracting jobs market."

#42The United States continues to be a nation of importing as the trade deficit widened 18.2% to $36.5 billion during September, the largest monthly increase by percent since 1999:
Marketwatch: The data suggests that third quarter growth will be revised down from its initial estimate of a 3.5% gain. Imports rose faster than exports in September.Comment -

#43Anyone catch CNBC around 12:30 or so? The bar is set really low for this minority president. Govt officials are "hoping for a stalemate" with China as the end result of this trip as an outright favourable postion, or positive victory, for the US is unreasonable.
That's your prez, Americans. No solution to the healthcare issue. No solution to unemployment/jobs creation. No solution to the deficit. No solution as to how to strengthen the dollar. No solution when it comes to gaining some leverage with China.

#44Buzzy, he has no solutions but as long as you keep giving handouts with money we don't have everyone will OOOHHH and AAAHHH.
And speaking of handouts, I don't know how closely you followed the campaign back in late 2008 but I distinctly remembering Messiah Obama saying that under his program 95% of Americans would be receiving a tax cut. Well I am solidly in the middle class and quite sure I fall in that 95% yet I have heard no talk of when my cut is coming.

#45ElC, the reparations handouts are the only thing he can think of to try and bolster his already aweful approval rating. The Repubs made a huge mistake when they let that moron Palin run as a VP candidate. Had they chosen anyone with a decent vocabulary and a modicum of experience this BS president would be busy organizing black power rallies in the Chicago streets as opposed to phucking things up in the oval office.Comment -

#46I like the way you think, Buzzy. You seem awfully interested in American politics. Why all the attention from a Canadian?
I couldn't tell you one thing about Canadian politics. Don't you have a prime minister or something? And why does your currency pay homage to UK rulers? See how uninformed I am?Comment -

#47ElC, I did high school in Chicago and undergrad, grad and law school all in the States. Canadian politics are boring as hell. I have no idea who our current PM is and could not care less. I am only intersted in American politics as your leaders truly affect global issues. Our guys are just a bunch of fluffy kokphux with no muscle to back up anything. I love Canada but I'd rather watch paint dry than follow Canadian politics.Comment -
