    Most Barrelled In Guy Ever
This Russian guy killed his mother and ate her body because he was too barrelled in to buy food.

"The 27-year-old was given a lenient prison sentence because the judge said he was starving and needed to eat after spending all his money on vodka and gambling machines."

"A court heard how he put her body on the balcony of the family flat near Samara, in southern Russia, and took her allowance before going on a two day drinking and gambling binge.

Returning to the flat, he soon ran out of food and started slicing meat from his mother's body."

A professional poker player earlier this year killed both of his parents in order to get a million dollar inheritance.

This guy comes in as a close 2nd when it comes to "barrelled in."

I can only assume by reading this he wasn't able to get the inheritance.

I like the word barreled in. I never heard of it until I got on this forum. Now I use because it's obvious what it means. I usually refer to it as tilt or chasing, but barrelled in is good. I am barrelled in.

He got the inheritance to a free home, three meals a day, free clothes, and tons of friendly people to socialize with.

Tilting and barrelled in are two different things though.

You only have ONE mother in life, so don't overcook her and DON'T go nuts with the seasonings! Let the natural flavors of the meat expand and express themselves in your mouth....you can drown a burger in ketchup every day of the week if you want, don't do that to the ONE selection of filets of mother you will EVER be able to prepare.

The simple definition is "completely broke from gambling". It doesn't mean "lost a lot but still have a few bucks laying around". I believe that is more what "buried" means.

"Barrelled in" means "desperation time" as in truly underwater, got nothing left.

Of course it is used in hyperbole, very few people ever are literally barrelled in, and for those who are it is not a laughing matter. But people refer to it constantly because it is the great danger you can sense always looming for yourself and anyone who gambles regularly. So that's why people joke about it so much.

I do not know the origins of the term. It has been floated that it comes from the idea that you have no clothes and have to wear a barrel around yourself. I always imagined it more as someone in a corner, crushed by barrels, unable to move. Barrels being a metaphor for bad luck, bad decision-making, bad handicapping, chasing, etc etc. But that doesn't feel quite right either.

It's a funny term, the term itself feels more perfect than any explanation of its origin.

Actually I may be wrong. I'm looking into it on the net. People do use it to mean just "very fukked" gambling-wise and not necessarily literally down to zero.

Also, it doesn't seem to be widespread at all, JUST on SBR and a few other forums.

I heard it first from jj.

Is it possible jj made the term up?? Can we get an answer on that? jj did you make it up or did you get it from somewhere else?

I think "buried" has more connotations of a one-game or one-event thing, whereas as "barrelled in" has more of a connotation of a cumulative effect, a general state.

If you bet a game big and lose, you can say you are "buried". But you would not say you are barrelled in from just one game, you get barrelled in from a longer-term aggregation of losing gambling.

Tilting is more of a state of mind in which you adjust your usual game in order to quickly win back lost money.
