You think that shot was good, right, and for the enormous value of the shot.. DUKE go's on to win the National Championship !It was a dandy!
Yet ,there have been better shots made in basketball, and with more value[school,team-wise] riding on them !
North Carolina's ZELLER, had an older brother that probably hit the greatest shot, maybe, in the History of Basketball !
My opinion thrown in there because I witnessed it !
And that shot, from a yard or so inside the half court ,won the State High School Championship for his school ,Washington High in Southern Indiana in 2005.
The most phenomenal thing about this shot was the "preciseness",the planning ,the execution, and it all came into fruition with only 1.4[within 2/10 th?] seconds left in the game. Much like Laettners, but further out, maybe by 10,12 ft.
The ball was thrown from under the opponents basket ,again like Laettners,it went to the 6' 11" LUKE ZELLER at mid-court,he dribbled once or twice, jumped into the air and launched a leaning, perfectly coordinated shot from 40 odd ft., and it swished the nets as the horn went off !
The fans went Batty !
And I do not consider "luck shots",like 60'/70' shots throw up like "hail merrys",or so-called ,"slop shots", being on the same level as the shots I have mentioned !
