.....pick 3 games randomly off the board, and flip a coin on each game. It truly seems like capping is a worthless exercise, and I'm wasting my time.

I feel like I study my a$$ off, get good reads, find good trends, and all for not.

If you're just going to do that, just pick 3 lines that are soft at your book. Better chance than a coin flip. Probably a better chance than handicapping too.
