No where to be found. Seriously, the guy disappears when the playoff starts. But it's good to see Baron Davis put his walker away for a few months.

seriously questioning his heart this entire series. thought his three point play to save the mavs against the spurs last year was his ending all the questioning of his leadership, but lo9 and behold, hes nowhere in this series on offense, and people blow right by him on the other end. no one would think hes an mvp candidate after watching three games and three quarters of this series.

to be fair he did nothing against them i the regular season as well, he might be somewhat overrated but I feel like he plays just as good in the playoffs historically

We should just start calling Dirk "bricks" from now on, because thats all he's been shooting tonight. Hell, if it wasn't for Stackhouse tonight the Mavs would be down about 10 right now.

Trace it to the Germany psyche.

In individual sports (Olympics, Formula One) Germans have no problem being the best. But in team sports they are taught to play within the team. Therefore you rarely, if ever, see a German take a team on his shoulders.

The idea of being a superstar is just not emphasized in German culture, and lies pretty much at the heart of American culture.

LOL... I didn't know you were such an expert on Germans. Last time I checked, they won several World Cups.

They won soccer world cups with their team spirit. The same team spirit that got them to several world cup finals, without winning those, with mediocre players.

No Davis was, in face when healthy Davis is one of best guards ever to play the game.

In all fairness, Bill, this is a team game. Dirk was more responsible than any other Maverick player that they got to the Finals last year. Howard, Terry, Harris, the others, are all good, but Dirk makes this team go.

He went 9 of 19 for 23 pts, grabbed 15 boards, and buried 2 three pters in the final minute that gave Dallas a chance at the end.

Imo, the blame for last night falls on the bench players. They were atrocious. Stackhouse takes too many shots, and turns the ball over. Starter Diop needs to be more aggressive, though he did rebound 13 missed shots.

The game was over, or atleast not in their control at the point he tossed in the threes. There was no pressure at that point in the game, nothing to lose so of course he nails them.

I haven't looked, but I'm willing to bet his FG% is down and his TO/game are up lifetime in the playoffs vs. reg season.

I think the problem is that when the pressure is on, his shot is off. He has no other offensive game. He's 7 ft and can't get the ball in the paint againt the 5 footers of GS. Maybe someone can pull Mugsey Bogues out of retirement as a Dirk-Stopper.

I know what you mean about his support not being there. Someone has to be a threat on the court. Then again, GS is only playing 6 people.

That's exactly the point. He suddenly hit two three-pointers when the game was over. So why didn't he do that earlier?!

All you ever really needed to know about Dirk.
