Been a new forum member here for about a week. Been offshore and in other forums in the neighborhood since about 1996. What has really impressed me is the honesty and straight shooting in the "Sportsbook&Industry" and "Players Talk" sections of the SBR Forum. It takes me back to the mid to late around 96'-01' when this industry/hobby was really catching fire and information was exchanged and shared in greater detail.
There seemed to be a lot less agendas, politics, and excuse making, etcetera for different books. The Books feet were held to the fire more so than today at most other sites (don't get me wrong-it wasn't perfect by any means). I really feel that this site is now going to be invaluable and a must visit (especially for the newer/younger players to this industry/hobby). There seems to be a sorta disturbing trend that I've seen developing at other sites in the neighborhood over the last few years. That is basically other sites wanting players to lower their standards and accept mediocrity. Usually because they're advertising and or sponsoring a contest.
It's almost cringe inducing to read post after post at some other sites, where the only reason someone can suggest a book is because the customer service rep was really friendly and helped process their freaking deposit rather quickly
(the marks don't realize that they all are friendly and super nice when signing up and depositing probaly 99% of the time).
Then on the flip side you get (I'll use Rx as a good example) the mods wanting players to accept mediocrity on withdrawals/payouts from sites such as S.I.A and Sportsbetting dot com. Like it's normal and acceptable. That jumping thru hoops and waiting forever is just part of the process-relax, chill out, don't worry you'll get paid eventually
And hey let's have off topic useless posts (anyone seen the new Saw movie, what's your favorite Carl's Jr hamburger, can you suggest a romantic way to propose to my girlfriend, what's your favorite flower?)
But if a newbie or veteran of offshore wants to ask/discuss/share something relevant for information or to help/warn/educate others it's a forum crime. I just wanted to give my props and respect to this site. And also as a veteran let some of the newbies know they are at a great place that follows the old school when it comes to sharing info that will educate you, which will thus protect you in the long run.
Once again-great site. I will stop rambling now
