Did it save you and make you control betting more? I have been in and out of those meetings for years and they do give you a wake up call and it does help. I never went cold turkey or even stopped gambling more than 3 days but it served a purpose. I might enroll again. Many will not admit but i know guys like Bread, Sammy, Wally, Prick, happy Boy, ect have been there.

I only drive through GA, nothing to stay there for. If Bobby Cox invited me for dinner I'd stay.

I went to AA once a long time ago. The first thing the guy said I should do was to stop hanging around with alcoholics. So I never went back

GA I don't need cause it's not a problem and ... wait another game is about to go off........

                G. A. taught me how to stop gambling, but not how to quit. In April I took a course on problem gambling at a near by community college. I learned much more there than at G.A. It was a good eye opener also. I model my gambling activities based an the ucla program which is based on financial control in part. There are many process addictions out there, Gambling's not alone in creating adverse consequences in peoples lives.

from age 19 to 24, i practically lived in GA where it was held at the basement of a church.i was alwys there.. everyone knew me there. i was a regular. gambling really controlled my life back then.. i could not stop. .then i finally got thrown out for good when I walked out in the middle of the meeting when the guy asked me where i was going, i said i had to run to put in my MNF bet with my bookie before kickoff and i had to find a phone booth fast.

he freaked and told me to never come back. and here i am today still gambling, and i love it..

I just miss the free donuts and coke.. i used to swipe like 4 or 5 each week and stuff em in my coat pockets and a couple of cans of coke.. I think they were on to me..they were suspicious.. boy were those donuts great.. and always fresh..

Was in G.A. in the early 90's. It was a fun time. My sponser and I used to go to Monmouth Park and Meadowlandsa between eating at various diners in NJ.
