    Yes,I throughly believe that !
High Schools now are accused routinely of recruiting, but are they ?

No,not usually, but the winning programs do "attract" the best quality kids, so there is that ugly thing ,money talking again, pretty well controlling High School ball now .
For instance,Indy North Lawrence has attracted so many tall players to it's school so much, they are accused of recruiting with regularity .

Last year, get this, they had a lineup of starters with 6'9",6'10',6'9" up front .
This year ,I believe,it's 6'10,a junior who supposed to better than the previous giants...,and two big boys transferred out this summer, they were only 6'11,and6'9".

Just a few short years ago they had another tall fellow named ODEN .
And ODEN transferred in from Terre Haute ,70 miles West of Indy, when he was a little guy at age 13.

Abe Honest, Michael Chandler will be that junior this year. I've heard he is closer to 7 foot though. Committed to Louisville

Abe I don't how it is in Indiana but here in Central Florida there is and always has been some form or another of recruiting going on.
Obviously there are Districts set up but there are easy manipulations around those rules that are set in place.
Naturally as you stated it is the winning programs that are the ones reaping the rewards and the recruiting is more booster oriented since obviously a school official can't get caught doing this but it does happen.

Oh and it happens before High School in many cases. With the ever increasin popularity of AAU teams and other forms of increased competitive leagues and various forms of All-Stars and developing teams that will be able to stay together for years down the road this has shown starting as early as 6-8 year olds.
Some parents are so into it they actually move their families so a kid can play for a traveling AAU team around here. I'm sure it goes on elswhere as well but I can only speak for my personal experience here.

Abe I'm from Kentucky.... almost Tenn. honestly. Anyways I just know that Chandler and Taylor (UL commits), Van Treese (UL player), and former UL recruit Justin Martin played there, as well as current FIU commit Dominique Ferguson. Indiana high school ball is LOADED! That team didnt even make state with five players committed to D-1 schools (Ferguson was a 5* at one point)

It makes sense for the kids futures. BBall is their only future.

Okay Powell,we are still pretty close because I have cousin assisting coaching football in Greenwood, close to Bowling Green .
He has a son that is quite large for his grade,a freshman, named Cavanah.
If you are close ,you might hear about him[I hope],for he did start for the varsity this year I was told .

I'm about 45 minutes away from Bowling Green. Hopefully the kid gets out of state or comes to UL if a coaching change is made
