When are they held? When I click on the link, I just get taken to the casino, with no clue about a blackjack tournament.gl

I've played a couple really low buy-in ones at other sites ($10 or less) but not BetJamaica... Obviously there is alot of independent strategy that goes into them but as I haven't studying or read any about it and I wouldn't feel comfortable playing anything higher then I could write-off as cheap entertainment.. Although the couple I played (again where the buy-in was really low) I thought the play was bad that I would be surprised that anybody who thought more a couple seconds about what might possible be the proper way to play and knew anything about basic strategy in bj wouldn't be at least break-even in them...

Yea, obviously this is another consideration as well... The ones I played were at UltimateBet and some free promotional types (live and online)... I would be really be surprised if the rake couldn't be beat if one had some understanding of the right strategy... Although, given that achieving an 20% ROI in online poker sngs (beyond anything but the micro-stakes) is fairly difficult these days, and given the rake, competition, and structure, I'm probably significantly under-estimating the skill level required to beat these even at the lowest levelsl...

Have you read any of the books about blackjack tourneys? I got a couple books that I bought in a discount bin one time that I never got around to reading so I don't know if they are any good or just junk... I know Wong wrote one that I think one could be pretty safe in assuming is good... I've also seen a couple websites dedicated to the topic...

Personally I never felt like investing the time as I haven't seen any (outside of a few "bigger" events or promotions in physical casinos) that I felt would justify the time investment of studying...I know that UB used to have some regular tourneys in the low hundred dollar range (and, I believe, that they were a sponsor a series of live events that were televised years ago but obviously didn't catch on) but, after quickly searching their site, I don't see anything at all of any significance being offered there anymore...

The 21gnet software is linked to other books as well, so its fun playing friends at 5dimes, Bookmaker, Cris, DSI, along with Betjamaica, and probably others I don't know about. Yeah the rake is high, 10% each way, but I only bet those small for fun.

The tournaments, I've had good success, finishing 1st a few times, and in the money in the freerolls as well (Saturday $200 freerolls). Can't beat free

LVHerbie, there's a lot of good free info on the net about tournament strategy. A lot of players really have no clue about ANY strategy and a lot of time some go balls to the wall with max bets and lose quickly, and all you have to do is play minimum, thats the best Definitely in the later rounds, most don't know which is a more proper bet to make and you can take advantage.

The rake is bad on them and that keeps real pro's away for sure. I've done alright with the heads up ones on 5Dimes but it can go back and forth.

It was nice earlier in the year, very nice, but now everyone knows about it, I think last weeks had 250+ people. Doylesplace is also included in this. Its a $200 pot, 1st place, gets 42% ($84), so not much but its free and fun. Top 5 places get paid, 5th place is 8%. They also have small daily freerolls I see, $40 pots to get people to chek it out.

Fishhead, you really need to play in the weekly and monthly bigger pot tourneys, which lead to the $21K BJ tourney in January (You can also buy-in) instead of doing the smaller satellites.

                      See you there.

                        Fishhead did you play?

There was 251 players today, and as you might of guessed.....

                        I FINISHED 1ST PLACE

I won $84.00 and and an $21 entry for another tourney tonight.

If only I could do this in the $21K.

Pretty easy tourney as like I said earleir, most don't know any tournament strategy, people busting out before the halfway point.

ps- I'm outta here, off to see my Packers at Raymond James Staduim and probably provide the BUCS their first win of the season...........taking all those points looks inviting with the Bucs..............LT Chad Clifton is expected back today for the Packers the last time I looked.

Enjoy the game! Whats the saying, bet with your wallet and not your heart, or is it the other way around?

Hope your Packers win and you still make coin on the game for a perfect gameday!

I'm interested in these. Which book is it on? Can I get to it from 5Dimes? (Where I have a bankroll out of all those)
