Verdict is in: Movie is total junk

Saw "Law-Abiding Citizen" yesterday. Wow, I feel stupider for having sat through this movie.

Boorish, loud, violent, brainless, overwrought, preposterous, and offensive, filled with stock characters and cheesy lines and supposed moralizing when all they really wanted to do was show explosions and torture-porn a la Saw.

Avoid.

My friend who insisted I see this is getting b*tch-slapped.

And by the way, I have no problem at all with violence or explosions in my movies, they just have to be in support of movies that are actually good!

Yeah, Matt, I do want to see that. But there are tons of flicks I want to check out right now: Gotta see Paranormal Activity next I think. And Where the Wild Things Are actually looks really good. Spike Jonze is cool.

Hahaha... yeah. It's amazing to me that they can just throw realism entirely out the window and no one making the studio's decisions cares -- it's like: Script holes? Whatever, just add a couple of explosions, people will love it.
