Slow pay by major "A" Rated books. Yet the rating is still "A".
How? Why ?

Let me take a stab at this...
How: Possiblely SBR is getting a little bit of a kick back to keep some of them there but
Why: is likely the better answer... If SBR downgraded A books for slow pay there would be 1 or 2 left if any because since mid January most if not all the books have had some slow pay to a degree... Matchbbok even takes a week which was unheard of months back...

Its amazing how this thread gets little response. Although the silence gives the truth.
If a lower rated book was slow paying there would be 100's of responses. All of them knocking the book saying how bad they are. But an "A" book. They choose not to answer, cause they have no answer. You guys are amazing!!

chano,
I agree with you, they need to speak up and tell everyone why and explain their reasons for it. They are simply amazing as you say.

We have covered this many, many times since Oct 13th.
The difference is the top books will pay and are trying and telling it straight. Where as a book like sportsbook.com just doesent give a rats ass.

So top books such as Bodog can take over 1 month to pay and maintain an "A+" rating and a top book such as Pinny takes 2-3 days. Yet both are A+.
This is clearly wrong. There is no reason whatsover a book should take more than 5 business days.
You should begin to set the pace here. Pinny is A+ because they pay Fast. Others DO NOT deserve A+, as they take much longer to pay. This is my point. All A+ Books listed accoding to SBR are not equal. Not even close. Please re rate these books properly. Its clear there is more here than meets the eye.

Pinnacle doesn't have to pay US players anymore. That makes their processing much easier (they don't have to change processors every 3 weeks).

Justin, then you should clearly state that the ratings are only useful for non-US players, because I agree that the current ratings are ridicolous. Not many books can compete with Pinnacle, and Bodog is certainly not one of them. You are basically saying that Pinnacle and Bodog are almost equal in quality which is certainly not the case.

I dont believe we have treated the lower tier books any different. Their ratings have been held as well if it is process related. We certaintly are not running cover for the top tier. The Bodog slow down is on the SBR home page.

Pinnacle took as long as 6 weeks to pay some US based clients. If they were still serving that market, they would have the same issues all the books are having right now.
If you move all the top level books down now because of payment issues, then you'd have to move all the D/F books down too (thereby creating new grades I guess).
Unfortunatley, it's now a fact for US based players that withdrawls/deposits are not always possible quickly. Doesn't change the fact that the top rated books do still intend to pay, instead of stealing people's money. People are just going to have to get used to this, or move.

It also doesn't change the fact that the guy who heads up Bodog has a history of cheating people. Whenever he's giving interviews up here in Canada, he never fails to mention how he travels the world buying real estate. We all know where that money's coming from; people who have money coming should not have to stress as to whether his cheque is in the mail, or not. Back in the day, when those who knew Calvin during his "fruit-hauling" days, wanted to know if he was lying, all they had to do was to "see if his lips were moving"!

Al,
SBR's policy is to tell it like it is. Bill has made it very clear to me: if I disagree with Bill, John or SBR, I am free to call it like I see it. All of us involved with disputes and moderation have a free license to state any facts or opinions on what we see.
You may disagree with ratings. We all do - even myself. Regardless of the ratings, we give out the facts that matter. While we strive to give accurate ratings, the open disclosure of facts lets players decide for themselves how good the books are (or in this case, whether you disagree with a rating).
I resent the inference that a book can buy a good rating. It sometimes takes time to adjust a rating, but SBR prides itself on providing the best ratings and information anywhere. If ratings were for sale, SBR would quickly become desolate.

pinny
one time it took pinny 3 months to resolve a wire issue. and it was pretty frustrating emailing them everyday. i think i sent them and recieved about 500 emails over the 3 months. but i still think is the #1 sportsbook on the net
i do think sportsbook.com is a piece of shit and they should just go offline. SBR should downgrade them to F
i still have a bodog account, but i never able to manage to win money at that site...it seems that i am cursed on BODOG, so i never experienced their shitty delay in payment. i am surprised though about BODOG customer not getting paid on time because it is one of the top rated sites on SBR. i know US law is making all the payments delayed, but how come 5dimes, the greek, matchbook, bet jamaica are not having problems with payouts?
yeah, i agree with the people, SBR should downgrade BODOG, i think they should be ranked a B+ at this point.

Justin7,
First off Justin let me say i have complete respect for what you do on behalf of players who are having problems and call upon you for help.
Secondly i enjoy this site and all it has to offer,a great place to get an education bout the industry, and certainly in my little experience, the fairest and most honorable BR around.
That said i do believe i'm intitled to my opinion, weather you like it or not, and my opinion on this matter is that BODOG shouldnt be as highly ranked as others, and in my opinion with all the slow-pay compaints adding up,and the fact that it's been going on for a while now, makes myself wonder why still an A+ the only logical reason, as i can best see it, is the $$$ involved, but i surely do not know this as fact, just stating my opinion, and once again my opinion is that
SBR is not biting the hand that feeds them.
Nothing personal against you was ever stated, other players
seemed to agree with me and some didnt.(ALL GOOD)
One last question Justin7 why did you take all that time to tell me your offended with my opinion, yet you never gave Chano a response to his original question?

Al,
Your comment was easier to respond to.
Re: Chano and his question... The whole offshore world is having trouble with payouts to US Citizens. I'm hearing conflicting reasons. For the most part though, I don't blame the top books for the recent delays. We are going to take a long, hard look at Bodog though.

Very simple..the ratings are based on the current industry conditions. In the current conditions, it is impossible to pay people overnight. The best books pay in a week to 3 weeks. Therefore they are the A+ books. Its all relative. You get paid thats all that matters.

The thing that I can't understand is how you can bet on dogs and horses on the television (TVG) legally and sports wagering is illegal. Seems like a double standard. As far as the BoDog question I quit playing with them years ago after a war with one of there supervisors. If it comes down to BoDog or a local as bad as I hate it I would play with a local.

I agree, at least Bodog is making the attempt to pay and do think that they will come through.... In my opinion they have great customer service and website... I LOVE Caribsports.com and obtained two payouts last month, each was submitted on a Sunday and check in hand via FED EX on Weds!!! BODOG should COPY Caribsports payouts!!!
