When should I buy points? NFL
I'm wondering what the best reasons are to buy points, and how much they cost. My current philosophy in NFL is to even out a line. By this I mean if the line is +6.5, I would buy a half point to get up to +7 incase my pick lost by a TD.

Are there any other times where buying points is +EV and should be done? I'm wondering about a +/- 9 situation, where buying a full point would increase it to a 10point spread to allow a TD and Field Goal cushon.

Finally, would I want to buy points to protect my line? Say I look a team +/- 3. If there is a posibility that this will be a close game, is buying a half point an advantage play?

I don't think you should ever buy points. There will always be another bet. If you can't convince yourself it's worth the less point, then it's not worth betting.

In the short time I've been on this site, I've learned that I should be betting on certain lines that I believe are inaccurate, not certain teams or games. Is this the reason for that?
