is a bad move, theyve only won the games cliff lee has pitched and it wont change tonight. I know the price is right but the bet is wrong

I've got a theory, seem notice it in ALL perfessional sports. Finals games tend to go full length more often then not. I doubt the players themselves would sandbag while playing, but I have seen numerous situations where officiating has greatly leaned to one side to either force another game or to basically choose a winner.
Two examples I've seen in football the past two years. Cardinals vs Steelers in superbowl. I saw many questionable calls including no flag for using ball as a prop after a TD (mandator 15 yd personal foul), as well as the last play of the game IMO questionable between fumble and forward pass and was not even reviewed upstairs within the last 2 mins!
The other example was the Ravens vs Bengals game, 2 different penalties that were questionable.
Just a thought, let me know what you think. I'm taking the phillies because of this trent and the price.
PS: I've been a soccer referee for 7 years and umpired baseball for 6 years so I know what it feels like to officiate, that mistakes can be made and it's NOT easy
