For those who don't believe in conspiracy theories by MLB...they also pocket a nice chunk of change.
The New York Yankees didn't want to have to go back to New York for a Game 6, but by virtue of them losing to the Phillies last night, they'll be guaranteed about $1.8 million.
One baseball source told CNBC that Games 5, 6 and 7 of the World Series are each worth about $1.8 million per team, after revenue sharing. The source said that Games 1-4 are worth significantly less because Major League Baseball takes a chunk.
While $1.8 million per game seems nice, both the Yankees and the Phillies would, of course, see greater incremental revenue by winning it all.

It is good to see others who can look outside the box. Cover all angles. Expecially big market games! Money makes the world go round! That is what they say right.
