    race that stops a nation
I am sure you have all heard the hyperbole that surrounds the Melbourne Cup. The race that stops a nation, everyone in Australia stops what they are doing and places a bet on the race. It is actually a holiday in Melbourne that day for a race.

Well it runs tomorrow I think at 12 am EST

    3 PM Australian time

There is a full field of 24 again this year, and no clear favorite. Anyway the favorite rarely wins, for sure not worth the risk.

The distance is two miles and course looks to be firm or good as they call it.

It will be carried by all the US betting platforms.

I like horse number 23, he is currently 21-1, and will pay at least 7-1 to show where a large portion of my wager will be headed.

The race is a handicap so weight is a huge factor. The 23 has nothing on his back and has tactical speed which this years race seems to lack dramatically.

Even if you dont wager it is a wonderful spectacle to watch.

Dubya, hope you get a nice hit there, pal. Ricky is a big horse player. He might tag along.
