The problems we have are not caused by TV, sports, the neighborhood you grow up in, your parents don't love you, you're color, or any of that BS. It is our weak azz justice system.

Adopt Asia's laws over here and crime would plummet. Who watched the video of the guy getting caned? They do that for misdemeanors.

A friend of mine was stabbed while being robbed. He almost died, but did survive. It was the perpetrators 1st offense, and since the victim didn't die he only served 6 months.

If the punishment fit the crime, we would have a lot less of both.

I think the situation is far more pervasive than music videos. I remember reading Galbraith's writings on the concept of the underclass. Interesting stuff.

The system of contentment used to be functional, when the lower classes had some hope of advancement into the upper classes. Now, Galbraith says, there is a functional underclass, a group of citizens that cannot expect to improve their condition. The contented upper class, in typical myopic fashion, does not realize the danger posed by such a permanent underclass with no hope for the future. Supply-side economics, the Reagan Administration’s answer to the problems of the poor, is presented as an amalgam of ideas cobbled together to justify policies that favored the wealthy, with no empirical evidence to support them. Galbraith predicts social unrest as the discontented attempt to improve their situation. He admits that he has no sweeping solutions to offer, but he does have some modest recommendations. As might be expected, this diehard Keynesian suggests that pursuit of sound fiscal policies would be of help, and that monetarist policies of high interest rates should be abandoned.

This doesn't sound like a realistic statement. Where there is good, there is evil. There will be rich and poor. Those that do good for society, and those that are nothing more than a cancer to it.

What can be worked toward to make evil behavior obsolete? To make taking the easy way out and living a life of crime less attractive for some folks? It's not up to politicians to reform human nature. I don't believe people are victims to circumstance, I believe they're born victim to their own circumstance. There are many people born with a full deck mentally and physically that make the wrong choices.

For as long as there is free will, there will be black and white in all phases of life (this is not a pun). Maybe eventually society won't categorize criminals based on percentages, income level, ethnicity, and eventually just realize them for what they are - human beings that for whatever reason chose not to walk the straight and narrow that many of us have chosen.

i know statistics and i know the violent crime epidemic in some of these poor communities, especially minority ones. I've been in the hood and feared for my life when 2 black guys walked behind me, but i've also felt that way when I was in the country with some hick rednecks out and about.

I'm an environment guy. I know what to expect in certain environments, so I don't act stupid and bring attention to myself. If I'm in the hood, which I would never really have to be, I'm a lot more hesitant then I would be if I saw a black guy in the suburbs.

I'd be running for my life as well if I were in the country with white hicks as well, but again, I'd never be in that area to begin with, same as the hood.

I just stay away from all that. The white trash in the country, and the thugs in the crime projects downtown. One could say oh well, the white trash isn't criminal like the blacks downtown. They are just as into the drug game, if not more in the country.

Environment has a lot to do with my comfort around people. If I'm in my abode and surrounding areas and see black guys with no semblance of the troublemakers downtown, I am as comfortable with them as anyone else. If I see white guys with no flags, no white trash dress, no troublemaker look to them, I'm fine with them as well.

Brother you are wasting your time with these mouth breathers. It's not worth it. They are ignorant assholes and proud of that fact. Just let them have fun in their own threads. It's not like SBR will ever do anything to curb the overt racism on this message board. So either learn to ignore it, or find another site is my advice.

Build a society (support policy) that treats people with respect. Do not glamorize or reward selfish behavior, war, consumption, etc. It's laughable that the same ignorant ****s who support the above mentioned behaviors are upset that some individuals would be hostile. Imagine that.

i avoid it most of the time because most of the time its people trolling because they are bored looking to get attention, like this case. A lot of these people on here play roles, it's sad, but they do. They say wild and crazy things because they know what gets views and replies. I don't got time for that.

Sometimes I do get a bit peeved though and have to come in and make some points and straighten these crackas out.

I should shut up though before I piss off the white half of me and end up having to come back here again.

I'm allowing myself back in this thread b/c I have something of note not related to all the fuss in this thread.

I looked up Emmitt Smith's wife on the internet... and then went to some black forums on the web. Ask yourself this question. Emmitt Smith is a proud black man to the nth degree (you all know what that entails for those who understand) and yet he doesn't marry a 'black' woman.... [nor do 99% of super rich athletes]

It caused a serious mess in the black forum I was on.. or a riot. Whatever you want.

This is quite the irony, no? It's like George Lopez marrying that white woman (read 'cuban')... makes one laugh. I mean, would you see David Duke marrying Halle Barry?

Now give yourself pause and actually think about this. It says a lot.

No, not really... I go everywhere with my gun. Although, I don't bring it with me into bars- I usually leave it in the truck due to state law.

Considering I'm always drinking, watching sports at any establishment I can smoke at that charges less than $8 for a pitcher and $5 for a JD and coke...

anyone that says they are not scared are lying. i've been to the states many times and each time i saw a black guy, i got scared as hell. the black americans are tough looking, whereas the canadian blacks are all like white people here. they are not intimidating at all.

i'll never forget the day i was outside A.C. when i went to a convenient store to get a drink and there were 59 of them hanging outside looking at me like they were going to either rob me or shoot me and take my money. each one was scarier looking than the other. scariest thing i ever went through in my life.

you boys have to come see the montreal blacks here. you will laugh. nothing like the gangster american blacks at all..

they all look and act like Wayne Brady here.
