Best hitting infield World Series ever
Off the top of my head, the Phillies have 3 former MVP's in their infield plus Feliz (non factor).

Yankees have Rodriguez (not sure if he has won any MVP's), Jeter (could win it this year), Cano, and Teixiera.

The weakness of both teams is the catcher but this has to be the best hitting infield World Series of all time. Can anyone come up with a better one?

I think the Philles actually have the better lineup. Werth is a monster and Victorino is great. Ibanez is awesome too. Philles lineup is completely loaded, better than the yanks.

Can't think of any WS matchups with stronger infields than this one off the top of my head. There were some good hitters in the '99 Series (Tino, Jeter, Knoblauch vs. Chipper and Klesko). In '79 you had the Pirates (Madlock, Stargell and Garner) vs. the Orioles (Murray and DeCinces). The Reds had maybe the best infield in the Series in '75 and '76 with Perez, Morgan, Concepcion and Rose around the horn, plus Bench behind the plate. Boston did have Petrocelli at the end of his career and Cecil Cooper who was a better than average hitter, and the Yankees had Chambliss, Nettles and Willie Randolph. Those are the ones that come to mind first, but nothing as far as what the two teams this year have together.

The Reds from 1969-81 are probably the best baseball team to exist in my lifetime (Eisenhower to Obama). Nothing against the A's of the early 70s and late 80s, nothing against the Yankees since about '95-96, nothing against the Royals from late 70s to late 80s (a very underrated team), nothing against any team the past 50-odd years. That was just the best team over a decade in my opinion.
