Early thoughts and leans on NCAAF lines for next week???
What do you think guys...curious as to what everyone here has to say.

I'll start by listing some lines that jumped out at me:

***Incidentally, 4 home dogs in the Big Ten this weekend***

Indiana +12.5....Purdue is the better team but Indiana has played well at home and this is a rivalry game and if Indiana is going to get up for one game a year it will be this one. Purdue has looked strong the past two games at times but I think this one is tight all game long could be high scoring too.

Iowa -4....very tough at home, better defense than Minn by far and Marony status is still up in the air as well as one of their wide receivers. I don't see Iowa losing at all. I think Iowa gets it done here on Senior day and these last two games of the season salvage what was thought to be a championiship run season for the Hawkeyes.

Baylor -3.5 over Oklahoma St: I'll step out of the Big Ten for a second here. Baylor has had a pretty solid year believe it or not. Very competitive in most of their games (c.f. Texas game of course) but have played well on the whole. Very winnable game for them on Senior Day (whatever that is worth in Waco)...OSU is coming off a pretty emotional win against #13 team in the land. Line could drop based on that alone. I'll say Baylor wins by double digit here as OSU has made improvements this year but Baylor is the better teams.

Quick Comment on MSU: It's pretty obvious that MSU has quit this year-sigh--I have a feeling they quit at halftime of the OSU game in Columbus this year. MSU is great in this spot as a home dog but I am not sure they get it done here. It will be a no play for me. I have very mixed feelings here. I'd much prefer PSU win the Big Ten as opposed to scUM or OSU but will be hard to bet against MSU. I doubt I'll touch this game.

Oklahoma +8 @ Texas Tech - OU is one of the teams that understands how to defense a Mike Leach attack. OU's offense is clicking at the rate they were expected to in the preseason. I thought Texas Tech's loss last week might bring this line in the area of 3 or 4. Wrong team favored.

Strongly agree with you on Iowa -4.

Mississippi +17 vs. LSU - prime letdown spot for LSU, and Ole Miss has played some good teams well at home.

Fresno +24 @ USC - I've been looking forward to this game all year, and am stunned that this line is over 20. An outright upset wouldn't surprise me.

Virginia +7.5 vs. V Tech - surprising line, and I think UVA is very playable at this number, especially with their home success.

Thanks Razz...just put in Iowa -4 (-102)...predictably it went to +104 seconds later.

What do u think of Alabama/Auburn....7 is an interesting number. Is that the line you came up with?

Iowa @ -4 does look good. If I could find VA Tech @ -6.5, I'll take it. I just have a feeling that they're going to crush someone because of what happened against Miami.

On the NFL side, 4 games already with double digit spreads. Another game is @ 9.5. One or two games without lines could have double digits as well.

I thought Auburn would be 6.

This is a game I have been waiting on all year (ironically another was MSU vs. Penn St., but I'm sort of leery of that one now also), but it seems the oddsmakers have overreacted to Auburn's win over Georgia and Alabama's loss to LSU. I was hoping to get Auburn -3.5, -4 or something, but I knew that went out the window Saturday night.
I honestly can't see Alabama winning the game. I might take Auburn -7, but hate laying that many points against the best defense in college football.

Lol @ scUM. I know that Sparties hate the U of M almost as we Buckeyes do, so we're in the same camp there Buddy. I'd also much rather see OSU or PSU win. I'd like to see OSU win as I've been a fan my entire life, and PSU because Paterno is one of my favorite coaches ever. I expect Penn St. to win it.

And Razz, good call on Fresno State. I also think that line is probably too high and may lay a bet on Fresno and the spread.

This ticks me off. VIP doesn't even have CF available for wagering yet. I could lay a bet on darts or the freaking UK elections, but NCAA football lines aren't even listed in the wagers section. If I win anything over half my bets this upcoming week I'm withdrawing my account and moving it to CRIS.

BTW, I work at BGSU. I will try to find out of Omar Jacobs is going to play this week agaisnt Miami (OH) and post here. I purposely do not bet on BGSU games as a matter of principle, but maybe someone here may want to know that info.

I don't think VIP's lines are posted until Tuesday actually. They're like BoDog and WWTS (other square books), they don't want to put themselves at risk by allowing bettors to hit a potentially soft line so they wait till early in the week when they've seen the action and can set a much tougher number. That's why its good to have a funded account at CRIS, Olympic, or Pinnacle. If you see an early number like Iowa -4, you can grab it like I did!

If you could find out Jacobs' playing status, that would be huge. I've been waiting for BuddyBear to get us some inside info on the Badgers. I wish I had known that they were going to lay an egg in Barry's last home game.
