They need to get rid of the division series. Look at this season all blowouts only 2 games won by losers.

They need to do it like cricket. Play all the games over the weekend. First to 4 wins takes the trophy. Play 3 or 4 games a day if needed.

im going to say it benefits the yankees, theres no way pedro throws like he did in LA in the mid teens

We have had 4 wild card teams win the World Series.
1997 Florida Marlins
2002 Anaheim Angels
2003 Florida Marlins
2004 Boston Red Sox

In the 15 years since baseball has added the wild card, the wild card teams are 16-14 in the Division Series. The wild card is good for baseball. Most divisions winners have big leads so without the wild card there would be very little interest in the end of the season.

Yeah that's true but what's the point in playing 162 games to let teams that don't win the division into the playoffs. Its all about the $$$$ obviously. Bottom line is that baseball shouldn't be playing games in November and that leaves 2 options that are realistic. Go back to 154 games or get rid of the division series where some fluky wild card team can win cause its only 5 games. Maybe make all the series 7 games and put it down to 154 games.

The thing is, the MLB season is just as long as it has been since they added the wild card in terms of games played, yet this will be the latest the season ever ended in terms of the calendar. Great scheduling!
