    the future of online gaming
I'm not going say whether i agree with the US govts stance on online gaming. i see both sides.

i think what people are forgetting is that...if the US govt wanted to set up shop online - they could. they haven't. in my eyes, bettors that lose aren't breaking the law. but what about the winners - no one pays tax on winnings. it's tax evasion. what govt wouldn't hate this?

anyways, sports gambling is going nowhere. there are needs. they will be met someway.

in 2-5 yrs i can see the US GOVT legalizing online gambling and setting up their own shops.

I don't think the US government will set up their own sports book. I could see them legalizing it and making regulations by which the books need to follow...

I would have agreed with this at one time but I no longer agree and someone posted a comment in another thread that hit it on the head... They said it is just another thing to label me as a criminal... Look at the US stats on jail population... From the beginning of this decade until now the jail population SKYROCKETED!!! I think it's up like 400%.. I have little doubt that they want to use gambling to expand the criminal justice system... So I don't see it becoming illegal and I see the US Gov. not doing anything to get "RID" of the books because without it they can't exploit their newly created criminals....

I think there is too much money at stake to be made here from tax revenue, it's going to happen but it will be after Bush is out of office though before it is done though. It would be a form of way not to raise taxes on middle income and lower. It is a multi-billion dollar industry we are talking about here, I just see the U.S. just regulating it and giving licenses to companies to operate and have strict rules and regulations on it. I just think it's a matter of time since the WTO ruled against the U.S. that there will be a deal made but it will be after Bush it out though.

Two very good posts from Sham and Tblues. And even though they come from different angles I'd agree with both.

I am behind Rep candidate Mitt Romney because I think he's a great guy...I don't see him legalizing gambling any time soon though.

I would bet -120 lines if gambling was legal in the usa, it will never happen as Vegas will not allow it. The Vegas people got the gambling act approved. The Vegas people run things.

we'll see...if it was 100% about money, the US would open up shop and make billions. it would put almost every offshore out of business.

One reason the US is against gambling is that the folks that benefit from our income tax don't like to see our money go offshore.

The US government has 100% sold out. It is corrupt to the core. If you bought an expensive laser printer and started printing your own money out of thin air, then borrowing it to the government with interest, you would be in the same role as the privately owned 'Federal Reserve Bank', to which ALL of our income tax goes just to pay them off. The only difference being that you didn't buy the government's approval first.

JFK realized what was going on and tried to change it:

Unless we free ourselves from the criminal Federal Reserve, things will only get darker in our country and freedom will be a thing of the past. I make such a point of this, because this corrupt system attacks America at its very core. And very few people realize it.

Of course we can gamble if we want to. It's a free country FCS. At least, it was supposed to be. Just because people in high places have sold out America, that doesn't mean we have to follow them. Ignore the motherf*ckers.

This article does quite job at debunking much of the hokum of the mythology surrounding the Federal Reserve.

Ganch, I only wish your political awareness came close to your mathematical expertise.

How can you possibly come to the defense of the Federal Reserve (which as is Federal as Federal Express)? You can always find or pay somebody to debunk anything that doesn't fit your agenda. Happens all the time.

Question: Why was the real money (backed by silver), printed by JFK's government, quickly taken out of circulation? If that's not a clue, I don't know what is.

Keep in mind though Dhorse that paper money or metal is only value because the people believe it is as well... Paper currency is a joke but we are headed for electronic currency... Google E-Currency.. I think all of the e-currency is allegedly backed by either gold or silver... I know the Phoneix (eventuallly to be the global currency) is backed by silver....

It's not about the silver or gold standard. Any anchor would do. But without such an anchor the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank can print as much money out of thin air as it wants, which devaluates our money.

This is exactly what it does. And our government pays interest for borrowing that money; which the government has every right to print itself! Its unbelievable.

Add the income tax (for which, to date, nobody has been able to find a law) which disappears straight into the pockets of the Federal Reserve, and the biggest con in the history of mankind is on us.

Both the Federal Reserve Bank's takeover (to print our money) and the Income Tax go back to the same year; 1913.

Since I can't match Ganch's expertise in economics, let me turn to another expert about the Federal Reserve:

No man did more to expose the power of the FED than Louis T. McFadden, who was the Chairman of the House Banking Committee back in the 1930s. In describing the FED, he remarked in the Congressional Record, House pages 1295 and 1296 on June 10, 1932:

"Mr. Chairman, we have in this country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal reserve banks. The Federal Reserve Board, a Government Board, has cheated the Government of the United States and he people of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt. The depredations and the iniquities of the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal reserve banks acting together have cost this country enough money to pay the national debt several times over. This evil institution has impoverished and ruined the people of the United States; has bankrupted itself, and has practically bankrupted our Government. It has done this through the maladministration of that law by which the Federal Reserve Board, and through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it".
This is for real, folks. But, like 9/11, do your own research. Don't let others tell you what to think. Especially not the corporately controlled media.

I have daily been reading this forum for the last couple of months, but this is my first post.

Most responsible governments choose to give away control over the ability to print money.

This is because if I am buying government bonds I would require a premium on the interest rate if the government could print its own money and thereby inflate the economy, depreciating the currency and devaluing my investment.

Also would unions, who are negotiating wage contracts, require a higher wage, because of the increased inflationary risk. Which in itself would create a higher level of inflation.

This is why many governments give away control over the ability to print money to a separate institution, which main focus is to fight inflation.

However I do not know how it is in the US.

There is a chance they could have created Bin Laden or the booga booga bin laden... It's no secret they were allies... It's also no secret that big corporations are in bed together which includes the media... Any chance the media is in on "Wag the Bin Laden..?"

As far as the CIA they are already in your home... You just aren't be interesting enough for them to give a sh*t...
