    Bad Lines
I've been a lurker and decided to register today. What do you do when you see an obvious bad line. Today I saw the Atlanta-Phil 1st half line with an over under of 911 1/2. Do you take advantage of it and hope the book honours it? Do you notify them to get into the good books? Just want others opinions. I didn't jump on it as I figured the book wouldn't honour an obvious mistake like that.

    Thanks

they'd never pay on such an obvious error. if you call them and tell them, maybe they'll give you a free play or bonus for making them aware. better yet, ask them for one.

It's best not to try to take advantage of it. Aside from the fact that an obvious error like that will never be honored, with less obvious errors you can put yourself at risk.

Say for example, as will happen occasionally, they switch signs on a line, so that a team that should be +3.5 is -3.5, and vice versa. A less reputable book could, if they wanted to, wait out the bet and if you lose, do nothing, and if you win, cancel and say it was a bad line.

It's just best not to put yourself in those positions, I would say that overall one would be likely to lose bets on bad lines way more than he would win and have the bet honored.

I did make them aware and they thanked me. I'll have to remember that free play/bonus and ask next time.

It's 50/50 on whether you would get paid or not. SBR has some major pull in the industry and you just need SBR to back you.

with all due respect, i think it is insane to think for a second that a book would pay on such an obvious error (over under at 900). if it was a +2 instead of -2 line, possibly, but probably not...i believe SBR is here to look out for the player, not to try and assist the player in a way to screw the book.
